    Morning all,

At last the rain has stopped. Its got the makings of a nice day so I’m going to make the best of it I think. Dunno what I am going to do yet but I’m working on it.

I need to sort my freezer out too. I’m running the risk of overstocking it again as its getting unmanageable. I think tonights evening meal is going to be a weird and wonderful combination son just loves those (not).

I have my son out shopping today, I normally get his clothes but his tastes in clothes are changing so ive given him some vouchers and he can choose his own. I think that will be the last I see of him today till tonight. He needs jeans.

Youngest dog seems to have put on weight. I don’t understand how as she is off her food at the moment. She must be like me, I have the ability to put weight on just by looking at food these days.

I’m expecting a deluge of parcels today. Youngest daughter sent me a message on Sunday she has been spending online again. As she works full time she sends the parcels to me as I don’t….. Mind you, I think hiding the packages from her boyfriend has a lot to do with it too as she leaves the wrappings here. :rotfl:

Right, I had better move, garden duties are calling me and I’d best get them done in case it decides to rain.

Daisyegg i feel your pain. My hubby works away Monday to Friday and the jobs in the house that need doing tend not to get done so i text him a list before he comes home. He is a pain to live with but he is pretty handy to have in the house. He usually goes through the list on Sunday mornings (before or after dragging me round car showrooms).

    Have a dry day all,

Morning all, hope everyone is well, hugs where wanted.
Chilly and windy here but at least the rain has stopped .
So usual stuff to do, bathroom and toilet mats in the machine, dw to empty , woofer is still fast asleep as he was up on and off last night as he could hear the wind. For a supposed roughy toughy rottweiler he sure is a scaredy cat:rotfl::rotfl:.
Ds4 has gone back to school, he is feeling better but is so tired , he wanted to go in as he only has a couple of lessons but one is maths and he hates missing it. How worn out he is will decide whether he goes back in this afternoon. Luckily the school are so understanding and my sister is picking him up so he doesnt have to walk or bike in the wind.

    Lasagne for tea.

Off for our flu jabs tomorrow morning , dd is bound to strop as she has hers friday after school as she has to catch a bus or train to school and dont want her to miss half the morning whilst waiting for the next bus/train.

    Enough waffling from me .:)

sitting at work, waiting for news on OH who has trundled off to day surgery to get his dislocated thumb and tendons repaired. Luckily I work at the same hospital but my nerves are getting worse as they didn't give him any information just told him to pack an over night bag just in case.

So right now I am making lists of things I need to do as it is pay day tomorrow.

my to do list: (so far)

    finish off meal plan
make a list of things in freezer
    write shopping list
make a meal from chicken, chorizo and orzo pasta
sort out washing to put away
work out what I am baking for coffee morning on Friday

Fingers crossed for your DH happycrafter.

Raining like mad today and having gas fire in living room replaced while the toilet in main bathroom is being fixed in properly etc. Feels like everything is falling to bits at the moment.

Waiting till 11ish to phone hospital for more information on dds heart test and possibly try doctor's secretary for an appointment to discuss findings.

Marinated chicken drumsticks are in fridge as is home grown marrow, thinly sliced and covered with white sauce and grated cheese and will make matchstick chips tonight to go with them.

Not sure whether to go to hospital tonight or this afternoon but will depend if any more tests being done.

    Hugs to all

    morning all!

off to work later. Toothache has eased a bit :j but still stuffed up - taking some sudafed capsules now - the chemist said not to but he doc said I could, his words were "they wont kill you" - not supposed to take decongestant with BP tablets but I'm so fed up now - day 11 of it!

DH was walking slightly better last night so fingers crossed he's improving a bit.

OS - taking some tart to work for tea. DH is having Toad in the hole from the freezer.

Have had a tidy round and hoovered the bedroom. Sorted out some kingsized bedding for DS1 as he's been given a lovely feather duvet but got no bedding to fit it and as usual he's skint.

Washing is blowing on the line - dry here at the moment.

    Bitsy - fingers crossed

happycrafter - all the best for your DH x

Elona - hope you get some news fromt he doc for your DD x

DH just had to bang on the window and holler at Louie the dog - he was hanging on to DHs new fleece on the rotary line and swinging round on it! :rotfl::D

have a great day all x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Morning everyone,
finally up and about after a 10hour sleep(still not hit upon how to pace myself properly yet) have put the rubbish out and picked the patio chairs up off the grass and stacked them up.

Today I want to batch cook some pasties. It will be my first time making pastry so am a little nervous. Also hoping the filling goes ok, using lentils instead of mince (OH gets grumpy when I do this but I do not want to have meat in everything and every day)

House is clean and there is only one wash to do :j

Hope everyone is ok, keep warm if you are venturing out.

    Fingers crossed Bitsy. Xx

Cakes in oven, kids not in school due to roads being flooded. Neighbours bailing out, so we all joined in and sandbagged the road outside their house. Must have been a good 6 inches of fast flowing water, but an hour later. Nothing! I can see smoke coming from their chimney, so imagine they're all cuddled in front of the fire now. No thanks from them though!!

No getting through to fat club tonight so will have to have willpower to stick to it!hoping to get through on Thursday, but good news is that my kitchen has arrived and will be delivered Friday, yipeeeeeeee.

As long as it doesn't flood on Friday I will be happy!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Afternoon all,

It's pouring here as well, but no flooding as we are too high up.

I could cry with this tooth but have an appointment this afternoon so hoping, well will insist they take it out.

Have had a busy morning with eBay posting and nipped in the charity shops, got a lovely top for my hols for 75p and a nice pair of warm pyjamas. I think of them as pre loved but no doubt dh will make his usual comment about somebody having died in them:eek: at least they fit as all my others are falling down!

Tea tonight will be a breakfast tea as I have some sausages that want using up.

Dd has just been home for his lunch, I think the newness of 6th form is wearing off and he is realising its going to be hard work, hopefully he will be ok.

Managed to get a couple more Xmas pressies last night, I have bought everything on line so far. When I think how I used to drag around the shops carrying heavy bags, not anymore.

Anyway better get ready for the dentist, have a good day all j x

....Is it just me, or does a lot of the fruit and veg opn sale seem tasteless? Bought some rhubarb to make a crumble and there's no real flavour, tomatoes seem to have been like that for ages and some other things too. It may be my taste buds fading with age and the fact that I smoke but I'm sure I used to be able to taste things better than this.....

Rhubarb will be out of season, so imported & possibly well travelled; Dutch tomatoes are well known for their lack of flavour, try to buy british or spanish ones as they will taste a bit more tomatoey. A lot of things available in supermarkets will be out of season and / or travelled so picked when not at their best & allowed to "ripen" in transit.
