Looking through the applications it doesn't appear that you can select these anymore which is a shame. It was fun while it lasted.

A friend of mine opened an account over the last 10 days and was able to select Child & Co.

Any temporary unavailability of the branches not part of the W&G rebranding may be due to the notices going up in branches before the weekend and then yesterday news on FT about the suspension of the rebranding with rumours that there may be a potential buyer

I have a gold coloured 15-80-00 debit card. I do like contactless. Does anyone know the more recent debit cards are contactless?

    Thanks.

There is no mention and/or contactless symbol on the new card but it can be loaded in Apple Pay

Oh really? At what point in the application was it possible, was it after the credit check as I'd be interested in doing it (Rewards) but not for a wasted credit check if I can't choose and I presume I'd pick 15-80-00 for the Child & Co private branding?

Edit: Found the branch selector, not 100% certain why it didn't show up before but I can only do it with Select not Rewards. Does anyone know how the decide to go branded vs standard for the debit card?

I have closed my Child account as there were better offers elsewhere.

They do not issue contactless cards.

Yes that is not the reason I left.

Hopefully it was not because of the exchange we had earlier.

@SLZ have confirmed in the other thread that somehow he was issued with the Drummonds Debit card, before closing his account.

In any case, RBS reward account with 3% cashback on household bills can work well as a bill paying account.

I must confess that I don't know how I got it though, I didn't qualify for private banking at the time I opened it (although salary increased a lot by time I closed) and I wouldn't really qualify now until after I pass probation and get salary increase in the new job. Looking back it was a mistake to close as it was a novelty but thinking about opening an account again to get a card, probably not worth it in all honesty, especially as you can't open a rewards account but select account first in order to be able to choose the branch.

The cheques look cool in my opinion.

Personally I think everyone banking with Childs secretly wants a Coutts account.
