  • Ok stick this 1 up your trumpet and feel free to apologise of course

    Up yours

    Now, what was it you were saying earlier about abuse?

    I have not attacked you once yet here you are getting all nasty..

    Oh and that text (despite your best efforts) still isn't on the page that I linked to and you still didn't provide a link either. That was the point I was making but again, like a bull in a china shop you don't care as long as you think you can pass yourself off as being right.

    Seriously again, how can the DSA test you on a hill start if there are no hills available? Second, I have hills in my area yet I didn't do a hill start. I was taught hill starts by my instructor yes however I didn't do one as part of my test.
    It wasn't difficult

    Actually it was you see you still haven't (despite all your attempts) done a good job of it. You've tried yes (and trying isn't difficult for most people to do anything) but its succeding that really matters and that my friend is something you didn't manage.

    Now, I trust you'll note that again I have not abused you or even tried to despite your abuse towards me (which is now being flagged btw).

    .

    So you don't accept the quote from the driving standards agency and you won't apologise for that?, and the item that started this, ie, you calling me a key board warrior, and then mentally !!!!!!?, you have a short memory girl, and even shorter driving knowledge.
    I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

    Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

    Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

    ...Its likely I will need to go uphill more often due to work (e.g Bath) ...

    I remember having driving lessons in Bath - the instructor took me to a steep hill to do a hill start, and was very patronising expecting me to stall ... but what he didn't realise was that the lessons I'd already taken had all been in Wales, so off I went no problem! (But what I did have trouble with was traffic lights - back in the 80s the town where I'd been learning had no junctions with traffic lights at all, and only one roundabout.)

    If the car feels like it is running out of steam as you go up the hill, I'd agree with other comments that you are probably changing up too early and trying to do it in too high a gear. Don't be afraid to change down and put your foot down to get the power to go up the hill. But it's more a matter of practice and confidence than anything else, you'll get better the more you do it.

    Evening Keyboard Warrior,

    Just like to remind you the op was asking for help not a slating from those up on the moral high ground ;) Perhaps you missed the bit where they said they learned in london on mainly level ground?

    Regards..

    I have no need to apologise for something that was not on the page that i linked to. Whatever you have found (and wherever), you've still not linked to it and you expect me to apologise for not believing you? :rotfl:

    I called you a keyboard warrior. I don't deny that however its not exactly offensive, just hinting that you're having an unwarranted dig at someone. Sheesh, I even offered you my regards too!

    You then call me an 'escapiee'. The start of name calling.

    I also never called you mentally !!!!!!. Again, you're exagerating. I asked you if you had a mental disorder (a question not an insult) and if you frequently imagined things being there which were not because you quoted many paragraphs of text which were supposedly on the link I posted. After calling me an escapiee and then posting stuff that didn't exist on the link I provided, I think its only fair that I have the right to ask - had you of actually said yes I would have simply ignored everything else you said and not responded. Apparently however you're normal (or not admitting to any health issues) so you're clearly aware of what insults you're throwing around and thus I will defend myself.

    Link right? - You quoted that and then went on to say I missed 'this bit':
    or maybe with no disrespect you were totally engaged in passing your test you missed this bit;

    Quote;

    During the driving test, approaching a suitable incline, the examiner will direct you to "Stop on the left hand side of the road, please"

    As far as I'm concerned, I've nothing to apologise for. I simply politely reminded you that you were having an unwarranted dig at the op, hill starts are not listed as part of the test on a certain page and that hill starts are not tested in all areas because they don't all have hills. FYI, all you had to do was simply say "Actually, on this other link <link> it says this.." - job done.

    You have done name calling, twisting what I've said, threatened to report my non-existent 'abuse' and just recently, called me a girl (note how your 'up *****' comment has vanished :p). You just can't stop yourself can you.

    I think it's you who owes me an apology though I doubt I'll get one. I've noticed there is a lot of abuse thrown around MSE by people who have an aggression problem like yourself. Its a sad sign of the state of our once great country.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    This post made me giggle - a memory came flooding back of an ancient ford fiesta that I owned in the early 90's. It was totally clapped out and my journey involved getting home up a very long and steep hill......Unless I hit the bottom of said hill at 60mph (couldn't do that now it's been a forty limit for the last 10 years!) It would barely make it to the top!!! even starting at 60 at the bottom I would still be changing to 2nd gear near the top!! and the noise....scared the birds from the trees - oops!
    Things are better these days I know have an Izusu Trooper which takes same hill no probs, even with 2 horses in a trailer attached to the back, and a 2ltr vectra again doesn't notice hill, but I still think of that fiesta and THAT hill!:D:eek::D
