    Hi Hannah,

As you've guessed, yes, it's very common for lenders to ask for your bank account details as a means of verifying your identity. The idea is, if you have proved who you are to a bank it saves them the bother!

You'll be fine to give them the information.

The asda card is supplied by Sygma bank. They require your bank details for id purposes as far as I know. They don't use for setting up dd payments at that stage of the application. I have one (asda card) and they didn't use my details to set up a dd. HTH :)
  • Thanks everyone for your help
  • i would think ASDA a pretty trustworthy company.
  • Anyone would think Hannah is giving her bank details to an Eastern European with a cut price car on Gumtree.

asda are not who you are giving the details to, sygma is who you are giving them to
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
