Need to let off some steam, hope you don't mind !
Facebook pet selling page... a girl has posted pics of her dogs litter... a girl I know notices this. Turns out the mother is only 9months old
The girl I know noticed as she had to rehome the puppy pushers GSD at 3 years old after she had 2 litters cos the owner didn't want her anymore.
When will these people be stopped ? !

If I ever win the lottery I will me campaigning/lobbying all MPs to make general dog breeding against the law, and only licenced occasional breeding allowed. I don't agree with producing animals to make money. Shoud be like surrogacy. Only paid for genuine expenses or something! then make sure it is policed properly and enforced!
Ridiculous. There are already too many unwanted dogs! GGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.0 -
I think these sites should be banned as should selling on preloved/gumtree etc.
I was kicked off a pets Facebook site for pointing out the stupidity of breeding from a cat they were already allergic to! That's not the worse though, this same person gave away SEVEN kittens to the same man with no questions asked. She didn't even think to check it wasn't the same bloke who was on the week before asking for litters of puppies/kittens to feed his python! I told her how stupid and selfish she was being because all she wanted was to "get rid ASAP!". I just hope she can live with her conscious.0 -
Pets should not be allowed to be sold online. Other than obviously rescues having online pages.
I am a member and admin of a pets page but the rules are strict no rehoming requests or ads for litter/studs etc.
I am really mad about this.
I know I myself have a puppy but I made 100% sure not to fill the pockets of an evil puppy farm or puppy peddler.0 -
I have to avoid the selling pages, I would end up so angry at most of the ads.0

It is full of people just breeding, selling then repeating the cycle.
I was in two minds about getting a puppy because of all the dogs in shelters and being a volunteer for a rescue I was not sure. I wanted a pup though cos Kia was taken from us so soon and I selfishly wanted a young dog in the hope I would have one longer.
I researched for a while though and found the perfect breeder, their nclast litter was 7 years ago so they are NOT a puppy pedller/farm, they run one of the well respected breed clubs and are highly recommended also in the ring craft community. They keep in touch with me and I even had Logan down at a dog show at the weekend as they asked if it would be okay for me to pop down as I live nearby, the pleasure on their faces seeing him made me know my decision to choose them was correct. The woman gave me a big hug and thanked me for giving him such a good home and looking after him and keeping in touch.
I am rambling on and I know I don't need to state all this but I don't want people thinking I am a hypocrite slating puppy peddlers when I have a puppy of my own. I 100% support rescues and hope that when Logan is a bit older and more mature I can add a rescue to the family.0 -
Con1888 most of us who are pro-rescue and anti-breeding are accepting of responsible breeding, and many have followed your story so know that you would only ever support that and your reasons why you got a puppy this time. No living creature should be generically advertised like a piece of meat, only on specialist sites or by word of mouth.

Thanks for that
Rescue is very close to my heart, I am constantly raising funds for the rescue. I actually feel quite proud that I have people ask me things about rescuing as they know I am involved (people in work, on facebook etc) we only learn by asking advice though and I ask lots on here and have had VERY helpful advice :T
I really went off on one tonight and was called some nasty things for voicing my opinion but hey ho, if just ONE person on that facebook page stays away from that puppy peddler then it will be worth every nasty name and a million more.
My little pupster will be supporting his friends in need of a home also, he has a little bandana thing he will wear at the events to promote them and if they ask about him I will explain that he is not a rescue but tell them all about his big sister Kia who waits at the bridge :A0 -
((hugs)) You can change the world one person at a time, I truly believe that. Kia would be proud, you gave her so much love.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I'm not anti breeding there are some fantastic breeders out there, unfortunately most of the people looking for a pup want one now, they're not prepared to wait and do research in the way you did Con that's how we've ended up with puppy farms and idiots like the one you've posted about. There's a page on face book called get gumtree animal free, it's getting quite good results and I believe that the amount of animal adds are down quite a bit.0

It's horrible that there is such a throwaway approach to animals, like they aren't living things, just last Christmas' popular toy that's boring this year.0
