  • IIRC there was quite a good 18-month-fixed ISA available in March/April, but I ignored it for the very reason that it would mature at the wrong time of year.

ps I wonder why Spring is still the most likely time for better rates , when now, theres been so many different kinds of isa offers over the last few years, that most people have maturation dates all round the callender? (or maybe they dont - perhaps Ive fallen into a trap?)

I've just checked my Quicken and I've ISAs maturing in January, May, August & November. Not one in March!

For years, every 6th April I used to queue up at Nationwide (before I did online banking) to put the new allowance in the same ISA.
That's when rates were much better & pretty stable.

So many accounts of all sorts these days, I'd never manage without Quicken.

Just realised, I didn't put this years allowance in Nationwide - I transferred Barclays Golden ISAs to them.
This years went into the Santander 2 year fixed.
  • I have a fixed rate NW isa due to 'mature' some time next month. haven't been written to yet.

I've been looking at the West Bromwich offering of 3.18% which seems much the same as most others.

Anyone got any comments on that?
