Nice idea and i would of considered it but reading the reviews put me off. Seems they dont take much weight and we have a TON of clothes, no way they would withstand them all.

We are going to a local warehouse which sells and donates second hand furniture. Hopefully they will have something.

Just to also note, i have just been to the local British Heart Foundation furniture shop and i am appalled at the prices. They had what looked like 1930's wardrobes for £90! I need 2 wardrobes and a chest of drawers, not likely at these prices.

Charity shops really do take the mick these days.

Yes I too agree with what your saying about charity shops, far to over priced, after all most of the stuff is given to them , and the hard working volunteers dont get paid either........I know charities need the
money etc etc, so we are all in the same boat.......

Have you tried putting a advert in local shop or newsagent asking if anyone as bedroom furniture what is no longer needed, that way if you get it given to you you could possibly get some one to deliver for a few quid.......Or check out local paper, many bargains in ours , where people need to get rid of furniture quick cos they have new stuff coming and no where to store the old, also ask neighbours etc etc, word of mouth works well.......good luck....

We used a clothes hanging rail (Ikea) for a while and some storage boxes, it wasnt ideal but it was cheap and gave us time to save up and get organised. :)
  • If you have alcoves, try using brush handles with a curtain to cover up
Have done this on a couple of houses as a short term measure untill I got round to refurbing the bedrooms
Drawers - have a look on e bay, can sometimes get old style drawers for a couple of pounds, use them and then re-sell or scrap

How handy are you? You could probably make something as a temp measure until you get yourself sorted. Rail pipe as I call and fittings can be bought from most DIY stores, and some wood...

Unfortunately its a new build apartment so totally square rooms!

Some great stuff locally on ebay but need a van to pick things up which we havent got and can afford to pay the extra to pick up.

Think it would end up costing more trying to make them, ive spotted a set of cotton and wood wardrobe, shelves and drawers for £69 on Sainsbury's website but would need two sets so one this month and one next month i think.
