Moving house in 4 days- no wardrobes etc

We are moving house on Friday, we have no wardrobes, drawers etc because the house we are in at the moment has them fitted.
I am completely broke and even when i get paid on Thursday i will only have enough left over after rent and bills for us to eat.
Any ideas on how we can get some wardrobes and drawers for our clothes or they will be on the floor for months which isnt ideal.
Tried ebay, Gumtree etc but nothing big enough for 2 sets of clothes and ones that are are pricey and too far away to collect as we do not drive and would have to pay someone to pick them up.
Really gets us down that we cant sort this out

You tried freecycle?
How about these as a temporary measure?!

Or ask friends and family.0 -

Last time i bought those cheap wardrobes they fell down within 2 weeks! They just dont hold the weight of our clothes.
I know beggars cant be choosers but it would be a waste of £30 for us when we could put that towards something more sturdy.
Will look at Freecycle.0 -
Alternatively then you could look at somwhere like very, Buy the furniture on account. Furniture there isnt particularly good or sturdy.
Unless your going the solid wood route (cost a fortune unless you can get some second hand pine or similar) most furniture is pretty flimsy (thin chipboard with laminate layer)
You can get a 3 pc set for about £150 new (this is the thin chipboard stuff) other than that your options are pretty slim. Alot more restricted as your unable to pick up/collect.0 -

I have bad credit at the moment so credit accounts are out of the question.
£150 is way over budget, like i say im broke. £50 is about my limit this month and thats pushing it.
So frustrating that i cant even afford to hang our clothes up.0 -
Charities such as British Red Cross have furniture shops in many places, you can get old but substantial furniture there for very little.0

Check local Lions, Rotary groups, my Local Lions has a cheap (second hand) furniture store.0

I've seen big solid wood wardrobes / chests of drawers go at auction for literally a few pounds; get them cheap enough and it would be worth hiring a van for a day.
Classified ads in your local paper should list your nearest auction houses."I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -

TBH the cover could be considered a luxury if you're stretched. Note the rail is on offer - 2 for £15. In time replace with proper wardrobes when budgets allow.0 -
Are you paying a removal company or DIY?
Removal companies use wardrobe boxes which you can also buy

Not sure if that would be an imrovement on a tidy rail or not.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

Nice idea and i would of considered it but reading the reviews put me off. Seems they dont take much weight and we have a TON of clothes, no way they would withstand them all.
We are going to a local warehouse which sells and donates second hand furniture. Hopefully they will have something.
Just to also note, i have just been to the local British Heart Foundation furniture shop and i am appalled at the prices. They had what looked like 1930's wardrobes for £90! I need 2 wardrobes and a chest of drawers, not likely at these prices.
Charity shops really do take the mick these days.0
