SWINTON insurance

Could the OP make representations and get the money back from the council? Surely they gave the postcode initially and then changed it?
Just a thought0 -
Hi - wonder if anyone can help. I took out car insurance with Swinton to be effective from 1 Sept 2012 and they have written to me twice - the last being really threatening asking for my proof of no claims bonus. They said if I didn't send it back by return of post they would cancel my insurance. I had received the proof from my previous insurer but wanted to double check with them that the letter they sent was sufficient. I tried to call Swinton in High Wycombe on Saturday 22nd Sept and there was no answer. I tried three times before someone answered and told me they were the only person in the office and they would call me back in 10 mins. They of course didn't bother to ring me back. I sent the proof to Swinton on Tuesday of this week but today I have received two letters from them to say my policy has been cancelled and they are going to take £152 from my direct debit for the period of cover I have already received. What - for 27 days when the yearly policy cost £252?
I am so appalled at the moment at this shoddy service from the High Wycombe office and I will report them, but what rights do I have? I have now been left without any car insurance which I have to urgently sort out tomorrow morning. I am so angry, any help you can give me will be really appreciated.0 -

Cancel the DD with your bank double quick. If you have on line banking you can do it immediately. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0
