Just bought the BP and trying to rip a dvd. Googled how to do it and downloaded Handbrake. That alone didn't work so I updated VLC and it's going but taking 5 hours! Is this right or is there a better way of doing it. My laptop use Windows XP. TIA

Well that didn't work. Trying to play it back on the laptop but the picture and sound are broken up. Is it because I selected android mid on handbrake? I'm not a techie and would really appreciate any help. What I want is films to watch when I'm on a plane.0

You need to use the ipad mp4 preset setting in Handbrake according to my googling.0

Almost any mkv, avi or mp4 file will run on the Playbook.
I've yet to put a film on it which wouldn't play.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Thanks dogmary, I'll try again and select ipad.
Dreamnine, how did you put the films on the playbook? Did you rip a DVD?0 -
No, I just use mkv and avi files I've downloaded.
This site is very good for any Playbook questions. http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-playbook-f222/I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Have looked on crackberry etc but not having any luck finding what I need to do.
Tried the ipad 4 on handbrake but that didn't copy properly either! Spending so much time on this.
Can some techy please help? Thanks.0 -
This has nothing to do with the Playbook as OP hasn't managed to get the file to play on their PC yet, that's the hard part. I haven't ripped DVDs for ages - but are we missing out the decryption stage? Have you tried a different (shorter) disc to test on first, so that it takes less time to rip?
Once you get it playing successfully on your PC, you just copy it onto your Playbook over USB.0 -
I'm going on a long flight tomorrow and need to upload a film or two so can someone pleaseadvise me how to do this? Please be gentle with me as I'm not technical in any way! TIA0
