Repeat Offers

I got my repeat £15K 0% for 6 months about a month ago from them, for the second time. Just said I was going to close down the card, unless of course you are able to offer me something tempting to stay. Mentioned the 1.9% for 1 year, or 0% for 6 months. Took the latter.0

See they have always done that for me in the past - think there must be a note on my account to say I have taken advantage for about 10 times, and not to offer this to me any more

Presumably you do have to repay the card to have any chance of getting a repeat offer? I have a £12K balance with N&P, which is in the bank. It expires on 01/06/07. Should I just ring them up and ask them for a repeat now?
If not, given that the other fees-free 0% deals are all 6 months, when would you start applying to have that safely ready? Does the 6 month clock start ticking as soon as the card is issued or when the first balance transfer is made?0
