Recommendations for wellington boots please
Options
My Hunter boots have now split underfoot and I need to replace them.
Although they are comfortable when on, they are difficult to put on and take off.
Has anyone got any recommendations of comfortable but sturdy wellington boots which are easy to slip into which would be suitable for garden work and dog walking?!
Thanks very much.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread, I haven't been able to find decent wellies for a few years0

I have never much liked wellies but with horses and as a dog walker one always needs something. I have been devoted to my muckers for many years now (including a fleecy lined pair bought at lidl last year that are decidely lovelier than the deluxe wellies dh has, he choose thehis muckers over his 'camels' unless its for 'smart' country things, which is telling imo.
In the real cold for a few weeks i wear thermal boots i bought through derby house, easier and warmer than wellies, but with the length. The rest of the autumn/winter/spring its muckers all the way for me and i am much happier for it.0 -
There are Wellies in Lidl this week, with a seperate removable fleece lining Men Sizes start at 7 (unusual) Ladies 4-6.5. £9.99.
The wellies I bought from Boyes (a sort of Poundland shop)are rubbish, same price and only even sizes.0 -

I have a pair of Dunlop (branded?) ones from a garden centre. Have lasted years and I like to hope because of the brand they'll be half respectable...
That said I do quite want the wife's hunters...0 -
I think something like choosing wellies is too much of a foots-on choice for recommendations.
However, if they are 'Safety Wellingtons,' you pay no VAT.0 -
I've got Muckboot neoprene wellies. They're extremely comfortable, lightweight, warm in the winter and cool in the summer and dead easy to put on and take off. They've had two years of a huge amount of wear and withstand everything they've had thrown at them (allotment, snow, ice, mud, horse poo and urine). They're a bit dear but I wear them a lot and they're worth it.
Before the Muckboot wellies, I'd tried umpteen pairs from garden centres, shops etc and they were all cold in winter, hot in summer, uncomfortable and hard to put on / take off. I then got a pair of neoprene ones (Tayberry brand) but although comfortable, they started to stiffen and split on the uppers in less than a year (of admittedly heavy wear).
I bought mine from this site: http://www.easy-wellies.co.uk/, and their service and prices are very good.
If you shop around you might get a better deal / special offer elsewhere.
Just had a look at the Easy Wellie site and they have a new range called Rok which look good. Haven't tried them though.
Hope this helps.__________________________________
