We were the 15th couple to view it in the first 24 hours of it going on the market. No way they will accept less than home report value, certainly not that much below it

It would have been the perfect family home too :(

Back to the drawing board. We'll just have to look at smaller properties or properties well outside of our desired area

Imo Glasgow is very bad value for money housing wise, but there's a huge demand, especially for family homes. We're renting, but had a similar experience recently. We were in the first batch of viewers for the property at 4pm on the day- ideal area, but house not perfect. After staying up all night deliberating over it, we decided to compromise and go for it.

Phoned the agency as soon as they opened in the morning, only to be told someone had put down a deposit immediately after the viewing!

I think I may have come up with a way to still get lots of really reduced goods with the APG system but remain under the £15 limit.:)

I hope I can explain it ok!

This APG I got yesterday started me thinking me thinking.
    Why £17.48?

9 items (7 different) on your bill qualify for comparison ASDA Waitrose
    +£17.02

    1 x Ambrosia Rice Pudding Original (120g) £0.38 £0.32
    1 x Heinz Five Beanz in Tomato Sauce (415g) £0.84 N/A
    1 x Pedigree Meaty Loaf with Tripe Original (400g) £0.58 £0.60
    1 x Iams Adult Large Dog Food Chicken (3Kg) £9.58 £0.32
    1 x Green's Egg Custard Mix (54g) £0.50 N/A
    1 x Finish Dishwasher Cleaner (250ml) £3.00 £0.32
    1 x Finish Shine & Dry Rinse Aid (400ml) £3.00 £0.32
1 x ASDA Mini Jacket Potatoes with Garlic & Thyme Butt... £1.50 N/A
    4 x ASDA Rollmops (260g) £4.00 N/A
    1 x ASDA Fresh Tastes Chunky Summer Vegetables (465g) £1.50 N/A
2 x ASDA Chosen by You Tomato Juice from Concentrate (... £2.00 £2.00
    2 x Flash Strong Weave Antibacterial Wipes (90) £3.00 £0.64

Comparison total (compared products only) £21.54 £4.52

I lost out on £2-48 because of the new capping.

But if I had bought these, (just for example)

    078363.jpg
ASDA Butcher's Selection British Sliced Chicken Breast Fillets (400g) £3.88 any 2 FOR £7.00

    Store_2.15px.png£3.88 any 2 FOR £7.00
    Store_7.15px.png£6.89 £4.59 Valid until: 09/10/2012

My APG would have been reduced by £2-18, and I would only have lost out on 20p.

So my theory is that it may be possible to get lots of the heavily reduced price items, on APG but then reduce the large voucher by buying items that you also need that are on offer in Asda but are more expensive in the store you want to compare with.

I hope this makes sense and would appreciate your views!!

Hi aau1, I have just left my estate agents job after 9 years a few weeks ago.

It is not uncommon for lenders to review their lending criteria and hence why you now have a lower mortgage offer of 13k.

In the area that I have covered the housing market is still very stagnant. When we have had such a problem as yours we have approached the upward chain to see if they can reduce their asking prices.

This means that your vendor would not be taking the whole hit of the £13k, I am not sure how big your upward chain is but it is worth asking the estate agent if they can explain what has happended and then see if they will each reduce by a certain ammount.

Its not guranteed but worth asking the question, your vendors may have had alot of viewings in 24 hrs but how many of those viewers were able to proceed?

It seems that as they accepted your offer they did like the position you were in.

I would get onto your esatate agent and ask them to approach the estate agents acting for the upward chain, they do not want a sale to collapse, so they should be working in trying to save the sale.

  • There are a few opportunities for cheapish laundry from tomorrow.

T has Ariel 25 wash at £4.08, reduces to £3.08 with car moc and think there is a further SSM moc for £1 at T?

Sainsbury have Ariel 16 wash at £3 . If bought with SSM and car mocs, reduces to £1 after mocs and jtd. The 25 wash is also £4 at S so could be included in a JTD vs S shop too.

Also, for a JTD shop vs A, the Febreze aerosols from tomorrow are back up to £3 at T, but £2 at A. With the two different car mocs they will work out free after JTD, and I think there may be another 50p moc floating around on SSM for the Thai Orchid flavour?

Hope this is right - bit out of touch with JTDing and MOCing :o

This has happened to me! Its down to the Tickled Pink packaging but it doesnt always happen! I have avoided the Tickled Pink packaging to be on the safe side!

Yes Miss Laid said last week, Tickled packaging does not show, but obviously remember the Tickled pink is for charity, I promise not to say anymore on the subject.

Like I said, it's a years worth for my family all with expiry dates of 09/13. Call it boasting, but I was actually expressing my thanks to all posters for the amount I have achieved. I've never thought anyone to be greedy, it's there for the taking, so take it! Who cares how much or how little? This is about saving us money and I regret not getting more during DTD, so this glitch has helped ease the financial burden from this single mother of two for a year. That ok with you, Locarr?! :D

PS; Speaking in the 3rd person is not cool, Nat doesn't like it :rotfl::D

you can stash what you like natty, loccar has no issue with this, locarr was just using your example of the hypocritical nature of this forum :D
