Morning you orrible lot, I'm holding you all responsible for my injuries!!!!
Last night I came on here to find more squabbling and bickering so thought I would post something to lighten the mood a little.
As I was about to start my evil old cat started howling at the door so I let him in and in my stocking feet, popped out on to a dry bit of concrete to see if my neighbour had returned.
My neighbour has not shown up for over a week and I have been holding a parcel...............strange.
Anyhow, as I turned to go indoors I forgot about lifting my foot and caught my big toe on the bottom bar bending it under.
As I brought the other foot over I did the same thing and ended up on all fours in the doorway.
As the owner of three herniated discs this was not a good move as my back went at the same time.
So there is me screaming in pain on all fours with my ar*e in the street and the rest indoors....not a pretty sight!!!

ooh lovely so we can self scan our 1p items on the way round and not get trouted??:T:T

I was told about this self scanning months ago by H/O when I phoned to complain about the lack of scanners in my local store. They said they were trialling it at the time and it is like S's fast track. I posted about it at the time but had forgotten all about it. Be great when we get it but I wonder how much longer we will have to wait though. :D

If you wanted to run it as a business and then sold them as vat registered you could claim the VAT back as the VAT is listed. You would then make a profit. I dont really know about vat but i think it works like that.

A voucher is as good as cash.

At this point tho.. when you spend £40 there is £8 vat on that. So really asda is losing more.. cos each time I did a £40 shop they would have had to pay £8 vat lol but then again they would have paid the VAT when they would have bought it at the start. so its just passing it along to the end user.

So if you look at this way...

I have helped asda give well over £1500 in vat for the country. I am helping!! Taking from asda and giving it to the VATMAN!

Without sounding too rude,i do think you need to stop talking about your tax situation as i for one am not interested. You have got a lot of goods from this glitch and that is fine,i am not here to judge you or anyone else.

I too recently had a bit of a run in with the same airline. Started to check in all ok although there was some very heated discussions taking place all around. Ignored it as thought it was nothing to do with me.:( Soon discovered the error of my ways. Stewardess said I need to weigh your handbag & hand luggage. I said pardon? She repeated getting VERY agitated because I didn't comply straight away. She said that will be £120 over weight limit charge:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

When I recovered from the shock she said that they charge £15 per kilo over weight for European flights and £17 per kilo long haul.

I forgot to say, you need to weigh your empty hand luggage cases - we have several lovely little soft sided trolley bags which are well within the dimension limits for scheduled flights but they are surprisingly heavy at 3.5 and 4.0 kg EMPTY. Last month we bought 2 Union Jack bags (trolley type) especially for a T/Cook flight from Tesco and they only weigh less than 2 kg. Budget airlines will srew you for every penny they can get.

Mine and OH hand luggage is the normal hard type - nothing special and my handbag is also a fairly normal size. I have never heard of this before.

On talking to other people I found it could have been worse. Some poor woman was charged £142 and another £190 that I spoke to.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I have complained but of course got nowhere but would like to know why TC impose charges like this and yet other airlines don't.:(:(:(:(:(

My experience is that ALL airlines have the option to do this - but the better ones don't usually bother unless they can see that you clearly have a LOT of baggage ! Airlines like Qatar are good - their handluggage allowance is 7KG and they don't make you stuff your handbag into the main hand luggage. Their main bag allowance is at least 22kg (can't remember exactly) and they don't limit you to just one main bag per person (I think BA limit you to one bag - which is a pain as I prefer 2 smaller, much lighter cases as they are easier to lug off the carousel).

T/Cook are the pits for luggage - they aren't quite so bad flying out of the UK but, coming back, they will stick to the 15 or 20kg allowance and screw you if you are even 1 kg over. They also do weigh hand luggage - the allowance is 5kg -a lot of the other airlines just insist on the handluggage being under a certain size . I've just come back from Majorca and a lot of people were really caught out on the return flights. I take one of those little digital scales with me whenever I fly just to be on the safe side.

  • I like the sound of this

Customers will also be able to use a new scanning system so they will not need to pass items through tills. They will be able to scan their products as they put them into bags in their trolleys and then pay at the end.

We have this in our store... you register your clubcard on the machine, then off you go scanning and packing. The first time they check your bags to make sure you've scanned everything, after that it's just random checks.
Safeways used to do this but at the end of the shop it would weigh your bags.

additional charges are usually set out in the T&C of carriage and it is the airline's prerogative to enforce them.

companies like BA usually let you get away with them, but with TC and Ryanair, you'll have to pay whether you like it or not.

Easyjet lets you cram however much you like into your bag provided it fits in the specified dimension

    Thank you very much,

just reading back to try and get my head around the trigger items and how they work!

The last time I used a pricecheck with Ts was before they changed it and you didn't have to buy a certain number of items or have a trigger.

I've missed so much - that'll teach me!! :rotfl:

This does not need a trigger, and its asda apg not tesco pp. Obviously remember at least 7 (get 8 or 9 to make sure) other cheap items, theres a list around on the thread somewhere. Dont get too many packs of marg as you dont want a high apg (its capped at £15 now, but I always try and keep my apgs under £10).

The 10p sweets (tangfastics, flumps, white mouse and buttons) have all worked for me in asda on waitrose targetted shops, and are good with halloween coming up, instead of too many batter mixes and mushy peas!

Anyone know where I can get some " get up and go" or "incentive"?
I'll happily pay full price, it's just that the mother is coming in 2 days and today is the last day I have to clean and my "get up and go" has gone and all my incentive has run out, I also think I've been struck down with "lazyitus" as well!!!!

when i feel like this I pretend that my housework is a workout and excercise, to loud music, might help:)
