Is this a good T mobile retentions deal?
I've been with T-mobile since November 1995 in the days of their being one2one. My current price plan, the PAY MONTHLY 25 (24 months), 900 minutes 500 texts unlimited landline booster and 3gb internet minimum contract will end in December 2012. The price plan was previously £25.00 but is now £26.23?
I have just been offered the same price plan i.e.900 minutes 500 texts, unlimited land-line booster and 3gb internet, as sim-only for £13.50 for 12 months as I don't need a bloat-ware loaded handset from T-mobile. Don't use much text, use about 450-500 minutes per month and I'm happy with a 12 month contract.
I'm not too sure if it's a good deal. All well-meaning advise greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't say that it's a very good deal as everything unlimited is available for 12x£15.50 from chitter-chatter (the same t-mobile in fact) with £7.50 quidco cashback.
And why do they offer you a sim-only deal 3 months before your minimum term expires?0 -
If you make calls to 08 numbers they should be included in your inclusive minutes on your T-Mob sim only offer,as are calls to voicemail.
The Chitter Chatter deal is a good one but you pay the full amount, and the difference is credited to a Chitter Prepaid Card for you to spend, plus that tariff does not cover 08 calls.
This special Virgin Sim Only deal is also a good depending on your useage
Virgin SIM Only £12 ( 30 Day Only Contract)
Your tariff gives you:- 1200 minutes
- Unlimited texts
- 1GB Mobile Web

Grumbler, I checked the chitter-chatter plan but its too complex and unclear with the prepay cashback stuff. I'm aiming to cut cost and pay as little as possible.
I asked to go sim-only as I don't need a phone. Was told I could change to this tariff come November as a "HIGH VALUE CUSTOMER".Money is like a bird.....if mishandled, will simply fly away....0 -
Update. Have gone with the Virgin mobile (EE/T-Mobile Orange network) £12 30 day contract as T-mobile's retentions department were not keen on offering or doing a sim-only deal. The girl on the phone kept trying to flog me the Full Monty sim-only tariff despite telling her more than six times that all I was interested in was something less than the 900 minutes that I currently have, ideally a 600 minutes deal. Evidently, the drive for personal sales commission overtook any sensible clear thinking on her part. She actually went further to tell me that "T-mobile doesn't do discount on Sim-only tariff" which I found to be a big "Porkie". Requested and received my PAC code promptly as I'd already made up my mind by now that T-mobile now have their eyes and mind set on phasing out competitively priced 3G sim-only tariff by offering next to nothing worth anyone's while to retain their custom. Their loss after 17 years. They owe me nothing, I owe them nothing. Loyalty counts for nothing. Have shopped around and moved on to a decently priced sim-only deal with Virgin, happy.Money is like a bird.....if mishandled, will simply fly away....0
