SOA...it's worse than I thought :(

For the smoking part of it (this is coming from an ex-smoker and I know that giving up was the hardest thing I have ever done so complete sympathy comes your way from me)
Gap:
BigWimp (on seeing Gap):
How BW sees herself:
How others see BW:
How BW will end up:
Then:
So, to change all of that (are you listening DMPHIC??)
Gap giving BW a boot up the "you know what":
(sorry, that is the closest I could find)
You have to do it first and foremost for yourself but also think about your little one. How do you think he would cope having to grow up without a mummy. How would you feel knowing that you were dying and leaving him because you chose to. Smoking is a choice.
Sorry to be so extreme but Mr Gap's ex died a few months back and has left their 10 year old daughter without a mum. She was an ex-smoker and her death was not smoking related but the devestation it has caused is beyond belief. The point is that if her death had been smoking related I think it would be even worse for everyone left behind as it would have been something that she might have been able to prevent or at least lessen the chances.
Anyway, if you want a futher boot up the "you know what" from me about the finances, you know where to come
In the meantime here is a hug from me (hope it doesn't look too dodgy)
You can do this!

i think the thing you have to ask yourselve is "do you have the discipline to snowball?" or have you been here before and once the cash is free you use it to take more credit on the basis of "i'm managing to pay it so don't need that spare cash and i'll have a new car or insert something you want in here.
Hubby resisted for two months, but actually since we've started the DMP process we've spoken about this more and we've come to the following conclusion we would have just spent the free money on something else, mortgage deals you can cchange to a different product from your existing lender, this was actually the best option for us the last time our deal finished, and finally having a trashed credit rating isn't the end of the world, we managed perfectly well before we had 4 credit cards, saved up for everything etc, it was the access to easy credit that got us in this mess, so actually taking away that access is no bad thingLBM 2 and the OH is onboard sept 12, DMP will start on the 1st November, DFD who cares as longs as it comes:)
1 year down 5 to go and now under 30k and 10% paid off :beer:0 -
Well , Smoking Lady has been booked but isn't until November - however, I have a few patches lying around so may try and get a head start ... if not, Gap will be chasing me with a club (and those smilies are going to haunt me _pale_, what more motivation is there - I should print that post off and stick it on the kitchen cupboards as my motivation...)
No chat with my sister last night so when I speak to her later I can tell the appointment is booked at least!
I'm hoping work will calm down so I can ring CIlex tomorrow - most people are out so I should be able to slope off for a phone call
I have no idea how disciplined I will be regarding the snowball - I was at this point a few years ago but received some inheritance and paid off all debt and bought my house (with big mortgage)...it's debt that's crept up on me since then that's now the problem - some I can say I've spent on improvements to the house but really I should just have saved upI've answered your question...discipline is not a strong point!
Anyways...no point dwelling on how I'm here, just need to get out of here!Current Debt £lots

You could snowball the debt onto a good rate card (not loan) but then - remove your access to that credit by destroying the card but keep making the payments by DD.0

Right...25 days in and no overdraft charges...but I will have to take some money out on a credit card to cover a £17 DD next week...but compared to the £25 overdraft charge it's a necessary evil
I also need fuel...which again is going to have to go on a card...dammit!
Less than a week to pay day and although I'm skint, I'm considerably less skint than I've been for months...that's an improvement isn't it?!

DM Know it looks like there's no way out but there is.
You may not be able to get out of the mobile/satellite tv contracts - but you can cut the expenditure on groceries, hair cuts, contingencies etc.... Treat it as a challenge and join in challenges here such as OMT's weekly expenditure - £50 saved on groceries a month can go along way to paying off those credit cards:D

Update! Don't need to take money out on the credit card as DD goes out on Thursday and it's payday Wednesday (I love you instant internet banking
)
Did put fuel on the credit card though...boo....although all cards and overdraft are within their limits...Yeah!! :j
Confession time...I'm going away at the end of November for a week (all pre-booked and mostly paid for...:o) but I must pay for:
- Gatwick hotel, parking and transfers for two - the lot for £70
- fuel to and from Gatwick - £90..(creditcard hell is a long way from Gatwick - and no, I'm not spending 9 hours on a coach each way with a five year old no matter how much cheaper it would be! ... and before you ask I did check...it's not much cheaper and clashed with my flights so would still need a hotel)
- Spending money whilst I'm away (who knows... but shouldn't be much as my lovely family are very generous bless them) and finally;
- Presents for family when we get there as we can't go empty handed knowing how spoilt we are going to be ...
Therefore...EEEK!
I've spent £4.00 on bits for my son to make Christmas decorations for the family (money saving see..:))
The minimum payment on one credit card will cover hotel and fuel...the only other thing I can do is ABSOLUTELY NOT SPEND between now and the end of November so I can relax about the whole thing - and once back make the big DMP or not to DMP decision...
I shouldn't need food as the freezer is full, just fruit and bits for little one
STOP SMOKING! would save a small fortune towards it...plus I don't want to be smoking whilst I'm there in any event (thinking of you GAP!)
erm...basically stop spending I spose!
