Is seems of late paying credit cards on time and managing credit for long periods doesn't give you much of an advantage to people who miss a couple of payments or only been in the uk for 20 mins or with no credit history whatsoever going by recent posters on here who've been accepted.

Sometimes you wonder why you bother.

Maybe this is a bit cynical of me, but we know it's more profitable for the CC company if a customer doesn't pay in full each month, or is occasionally late, but does have the means to pay (so the balance does get cleared quite quickly still, so they can see there's little risk).

I do wonder if some of the internal CC company algorithms give quite a bit of weight to this when deciding applications.

Note: this isn't an attempt to justify why I might have had low limits, I've been offered both limits that I consider too high based on my means, and limits that I consider too low (of note, being aqua, but still worth playing their game).

In My Case I have had 1 year of history so I do not know how the banks will consider completely new people landed yesterday.. Though giving credit to some one who has an income, no frequent address changes etc, but no credit history would be considered benefitial(considering some probable income) than to consider obvious badly managed credit histories..
I am Novice wrt Knowledge on UK Banking industry. I post based on my own experiences and knowledge of using credit cards overseas.
