I've been on a DMP with CCCS for about 5 years with very little improvement, last time I checked it will be 2020 before I am debt free so hardly realistic,

With a drop in pay and cut in tax credits things have now just come to a head.

Download the budget planner on this website, post a SOA on the debt free wanabee board and see the Direct Gov website for debt management.

You don't really provide enough info about your debts and have been resistent to posting an SOA - the members on the DFW board have the reputation of offering sound advice on debt management and slashing household expenses.

I don't think we can really help you because you don't give us the full picture and it's probably the debts that are the primary reason why you endure hardship, not lack of benefits.

You need to get a grip of your debts - you've seem to have been swamped with debts for years (30 plus creditors?!) so I'm inclined to think that you've been habitually living above your means. You should be spending more time on the DFW board instead of wishful thinking about more benefits.
  • so you get just over £500 a week? That seems quite a lot, my partner works full time and I am a stay at home mum and we get £400 a week with 2 children. We don't live in a council house so we pay a mortgage and we are very careful with our money and manage fine. I'm not saying we are well off but live within our means. Maybe you should sit down and work everything out and see where you could save any money.
