Anyone know anything about quick gps data and traffic costs
Everytime i use sat nav on android i get prompted to
"use quick gps data"
if i activate it, it says "traffic cost will incur"
Anyone know anything about quick gps data and traffic costs
What does 'quick gps actually do'? whats the benefit over std sat navigation?
Whatg sort of costs are they talking about £100000's ???

Well, on TomTom devices, QuickGPS uses information about your location (obtained from your PC, I guess the phone will use your phone/wifi location data) to speed up locating GPS satellites.

gps data is data from the network to locate your position, one good thing is it is likely to work under bridges etc , where there is no clear view of the sky, as for cost? I have never monitored it, but I suspect it is small and the cost will depend on your airtime agreement.0

Quick GSP data makes the GPS satellite lock quicker. It means you download the satellite orbit data over your data connection instead of from the satellites themselves. The satellites only transmit this data slowly. You need this data for the GPS system to calculate your location. The traffic costs are what you would pay for the data to come over your mobile phone data connection. It won't cost much as the amount of data isn't very high.Everytime i use sat nav on android i get prompted to
