I realise that some front loaded PPI claims are failing but I would think that as Matt had a number of loans paying off the previous then the unfair rebates would have been compounded?
Yes, I think front loaded PPI consolidated into further loans is a win for the OP. It's effectively a loan on a loan on a loan!

I make 4 seperate claims for the 4 loans thanks for your advice on this
You should fill out four separate Ombudsman Complaint forms, but include a cover letter which makes it clear that the four loans form a consolidation chain, wherein PPI was consecutively front loaded to accrue extra interest. Make sure you refer to the other loans in the body of your complaint forms too.

    This is a win.

So when I ring them tomorrow I shall use that as my reason for complaint that although I knew of it it wasn't considered optional or explained I could get it elsewhere and not neccissarily with the bank and that the monthly payments do not reflect it is that a correct and valid start to a claim?

Ah so do you think I shouldn't bother with Natwest at all and go straight to the ombudsman?

You obviously have no clue as to the procedure. The Bank have to be given the opportunity to respond to your concerns and the Ombudsman can only become involved after your lender has given a full and final response (or they have failed to respond within eight weeks, whichever is the sooner).

Go to this link for a full break down of how to complain:

Follow the steps carefully, but Skip the part about writing for the terms and conditions-you know the account numbers and have valid and verifiable complaint reasons already.

You cant go straight to the FOS. You have to wait for the firm to give its response first

I don't recommend using the telephone to make this complaint.

Use the Ombudsman Complaint Form as a facility to put fully your concerns in writing. This way you have a proper audit trail of what you've actually communicated to the Bank.
This could be especially useful if you eventually have to go to the Ombudsman.

However, I sincerely doubt you'll have to go to the Ombudsman if you follow the simple steps from the MSE site.

  • Brilliant thanks for all your help guys do my complaint will be that I have been mis sold ppi on the grounds of a single premium added to all my loans all of which interest was paid right up until settlement and carried over is that right? The product was sold to me as part of the loan and at no point was I told it was optional and after the initial loans all top up loans were processed with the ppi on as every subsequent loan was processed much quicker and was literally checked details and sign here is this how I should approach this claim?

Thanks again guys you have enlightened me
