Unable to restore my iPhone 3GS & also have no carrier signal after downgrading

ah so you managed to get it in DFU mode eventually then?

There is only one more option I can think of to try which I have done before, that is on a completely different computer install iTunes and try to restore the iPhone (go thorough the methods Recovery mode and if that doesn't work DFU mode), you can skip and try DFU mode first if you want it doesn't really matter.

If that doesn't work then I'm all out of options, but I have my fingers crossed for you.

Well i have fixed it, sort of & now i really don't like my phone.

What i did was pretty simple in the end ....... Settings>General>Reset

Then i selected to reset the settings but not the files. After this i TRIED resetting the entire phone but it just had a spinning circle for an hour. I shut the phone down & restored via iTunes & it finally allowed me.

So now i'm running iOS6 & i really don't like it.

The phone is no longer jailbroken. I have no idea if an untethered jailbreak is available or not for this.

I have my SHSH blobs saved, but i've no idea how to use them. I also have no idea if i can downgrade to a version of iOS5. I know online articles suggest i can, but online articles also gave ways of solving the 3194 error & none of them worked.

So in the end, i'm happy that i can now actually USE the phone - make calls, send texts etc, but i'm not happy with what i've gained/lost.

phew that's good I thought it was bricked when you said it was pretty much useless.

you should be able to restore to 5.0.1 with step 1 from here, since you have the SHSH blobs saved.
