  • Also tried to use Intel's driver update utility without success! updated java and ran srl applet but comes up with browser compatibility /firewall or installation issue. Have even tried with firewall disabled and pop-ups allowed!

    Thanks both for your inputs

Hold on, isn't the 2100 a 801.11b only wifi card ?? If so, you need to check your router is set to transmit it's wifi on mixed b/g/n modes, or the card will never connect to it...

thought so :) It's b-only. Log in to your router's interface and set the wifi accordingly :)

edit:- and you may have to drop the wifi security down to WPA if it's set for WPA2...card won't handle WPA2

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
  • Yes, router is set up to transmit on mix and is WPA. Was working fine before reinstall! Reinstall was because it had become very unstable! I might try and get a dongle to solve problem! Thanks for the help.

rather than do that, use either slimdrivers or drivermax to get the best driver for the card...has solved similar problems with these before :)
