Help! My dog is in a bad way and faced with big bill!

Fraud is not the answer. You need to take the dog to the vet immediately. If you can't afford the bill (in installments if the vet is kind) then you need to give the dog up.0

You must take your dog to the vet. Either you need to arrange a payment plan with the vet, get a 0% credit card, ring all the rescues and surrender him to their care urgently so they can treat him or consider PTS. Sorry to be harsh but there is no excuse for leaving a child or animal in your care in pain or significant discomfort.
If you keep the dog please get him insured with a reputable company like AXA. If you'd read the Pets board a few months ago you would have seen the main problems with insurance are people pre-existing conditions, people not reading the terms and conditions, a couple of rogue companies. You will also need savings set aside to pay money out up front, to cover stuff like dental care and for the current condition and anything in the same organ or tissue because that will be classed as pre-existing. If you don't have this unfortunately you can't afford to have a pet.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Hi All
Thank you kindly for your help!
I am not in a position to apply for a credit card at the moment and i do know someone with Housing Benefit but i can't comit Fraud, its just not me.
A lot of you have mentioned rehoming! How does this work?
Is it a matter of just turning up at the RSPCA and telling them i can't afford treatment so can they take him?
I really don't want this option as even though i have only had him a short time, he is now part of the family. I have contacted some local vets and none of them are willing to let me pay by installments.0 -

Ring all the local rescues you can find, RSPCA down to the smaller independents and explain the urgency of the situation and that you are willing to sign him over, they may ask you to rush him to a vet practice they have an arrangement with or they may ask you to bring him in. http://www.dogpages.org.uk/Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I've heard good things about vets 4 pets in the past, the nearest ones to Worcestershire are Lye (by Merry Hill shopping centre) or Shrewsbury. Combined with a 0% credit card, you should be able to sort him out.0

Hi there
Vets4Pets are not allowing me to pay in installments and a Credit Card is not an option for me.0 -
I think most of the large rescue would want to know what was wrong with the dog before taking him in. They would not want to risk the health of your dog or the other dogs in their care by bringing in a dog that was unwell. I would expect them to ask for a Vets opinion on what was wrong with your dog.
You may be better asking a breed rescue for help with rehoming. http://www.cavalierrescue.co.uk/operation.htm
Good Luck xSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Have you made a vet appointment yet? He's been poorly for 3 days already! Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

If you live in Bromsgrove, the Blue Cross may be able to help. As the most local charity, they may be able to sign post you to another similar service if you fall outside this area.
