Claiming ppi on a satisfied dmp

Hi,
I have just used the template ltr on money saving site to reclaim some ppi, i had debts and unfortunately i had to set up a debt management plan with a government run agency and eventually settled these debts last year in 2011.
My question is if my creditors excepted a settlement figure from me and the debt is now satisfied, can they claim the ppi compensation i get back back . The settlement payment was partially settled but classed as full and final.
I have had oan positive reply from a company offering me £672 but they then went on to say they noticed i had an iva (which i didnt it was a dmp) and they would contact the company concerned first to see if i would have to pay this money to them. Surely i won,t have to, will i ?

Any monies written off as part of your DMP will indeed be clawed back from your redress, I'm afraid.0

Oh well have to see what happens there then

But surely if the companies gave me a settlement figure and accepted this as final figure that should be the end of it. The case was closed over a year ago, i signed nothing to say if i came into money they could then claw it back to pay the debt in full, so i cant see how they can do that.
Ive settled as far as i am concerned. My cases are all closed.0 -
You have effectively re-opened them by complaining of PPI mis-selling. Your lender wrote off monies owed, but now you want further redress.Triplets2907 wrote: »Ive settled as far as i am concerned. My cases are all closed.
If you regard these cases as closed, you shouldn't now be claiming against them...0 -
But i am claiming from my original creditors, my debts all went to debt collection agencies! Would that make a difference?0

Exactly. It is the end of it. However, you have chosen to reopen it.Ive settled as far as i am concerned. My cases are all closed.

I am only claiming as i read the martin lewis website and is pushing for people to claim back ppi, even if the loans, credit cards etc are all paid off and the cases are closed.
He even suggested those with iva's should try and claim.
I don't see that i am doing anything wrong ....but by the sounds of your reply i am!
I am a little confused by it all to be honest.0 -

That is in relation to people who paid back all they owed in full. Not that who did not pay the full amount back.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
