our asda takes the reduced stuff in the fridges away about 4 and reduce it right down and bring it out at 5.as for fruit and veg they dont knock that right down no more they knock it down by 25% once and dont do it again.the bakery dont do a lot now and if there is anything left after 6 or 7 they will knock it down, but there is never much left

Are supermarkets supposed to have "favourite" customers? There is a woman who goes to Asda Trafford every evening to and waits for the staff to mark down the prices. However, the staff actually hands the food straight to her rather than putting it on the shelves for other customers.

She walks out with a whole trolley full of food everyday, usually reduced by around 90%. Must be someonne who sells them on. Can't help but look on with envy as to why she gets preferential treatment.

staff are not allowed to do that in asda.our asda found out staff were reducing things for freinds and got sacked in the end for it,now they take the food out the back to reduce it then bring it out and put it in the fridge and are not allowed to pass it to the customer.i would complain to the manager in your situation

I've seen this done in my local Sainsburys before and made me see red until I found out that the person was buying food for a shelter/soup kitchen for homeless people.Maybe next time say to them 'you've got alot of bargains' or something friendly, if its for them they wont respond ,if its for a good cause then they will normally say so.

Depends on the sainsburys. My local sainsburys had new tills The new tills print on both sides of the receipt and the extra reductions no longer happen.

As I have tested it a couple of times.

In the past I have been paid to take away but of course I had other shopping so they did not end up owning me.

ok if its true but most people i see will tell you ,its for an old lady next door,or ,i didnt realise they knock stuff down like this, yet you see them in there nearly everyday buying reduced stuff.i thinck shops should reduce stuff at different times to give other people chance to buy it as people who buy reduced stuff regulery (like me)know when to be there, whereas if we didnt know what time they do it other people would get a chance.i also find out that round here the main people who complain about what you get are the people who are regulars but try to make out they didnt realise stuff gets reduced
