    Pearla*Merle - well done on a successful month!

    Thanks everyone for the compliments on the pictures ;)

    No spend day today as planned! Made chicken fajitas for dinner with my home made wraps and the chicken I marinaded overnight, so tasty.

    payday on thurs but still need to buy some fruit n milk.

    but im under my budget that i set! woo hoo!! :j:j:j:beer:

    am also starting to look at buying my own place :eek: so have decided to eat everything in freezer and stock cupboards. i seem to have a lot of noodles and rice so went to farm foods and bought some frozen sliced mushrooms n onions n beef strips n seafood mix thing to make stir fry noodles/noodle soups/rice dishes etc. hopefully this plan works as only want to be moving kitchen ware and herbs/baking stuff/condiments rather than a whole stock cupboard..... if that makes sense!

    operation empty cupboards/freezer begins today!! :rotfl:

    Hmm - this month has been unsuccessful. But we are still spending a lot less than we were a few months ago - and I definately think £300 is doable for us - just a few hiccups along the way this month.
    Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

    November GC £255/£300

    Good morning,

    I'm having a debate with myself over the best way to budget for the month... Or more specifically, when to start my month from.

    My main income is now my bursary which is paid on or around the 10th every month. I still work part time, so still receive a smaller pay on the last Thursday of the month.

    I'm thinking it might be sensible to wait until the 10th, as when my pay goes in, there is every chance it might need to be left for direct debits etc. coming out on the first.

    I think I'll carry on, and start my November budget on the 10th. I think also that since I managed to buy a fridge freezer this month with my budget, I should be able to reduce it by a fair bit :-)

    Well done on buying the friddge frezer out of the budget. and I think it is wise to stick to the 10th leaving a buffer for direct debits.

    [QUOTE=Save Dosh;
    NickiSue - you could keep the budget the same, with the view to reducing it, and bank whats left for xmas[/QUOTE]
    Thank you! That's a cracking idea, thank you. It might be that the saving isn't huge so it saves me going under-budget.
