I think I'm beginning to get the hang of this GC thing. I really should stop wandering past the two Co-op Whoopsied shelves when I'm out and about - both shops are on the way home. It's so easy to fritter away £5 every time. I'm also learning to pull meals together from stuff that has been in the freezer for ever, supposedly as a treat when we want one. We had an amazing smogasbord last night, but the crab, calamari and prawns were just as bland as bland can be because they'd been frozen for so long. (We normally eat so well we don't actually need treats!)
OH has an abstemious single biscuit every day with his cup of tea mid-afternoon, and I've been baking them for him since I joined the GC. Today was - Ta Da! - the first Twinks HobNobs baking day, but when I beetled down to the kitchen I discovered - NO OATS! I'd got everything else, I even bought a tin of golden syrup espcially, but apparently 'It's too early for porridge.' I was absolultely furious!
However, good news all round, the last scrap of a packet of cereal that was going a bit soft and the large quantity of dessicated coconut a random lodger left behind last year made up the weight and I can report they are absolutely fab. OH loves them, which is just as well because the mix made 52! That'll keep him going for a bit and as I loathe coconut it's finally rid me of something that had been hanging around for far too long anyway. Good news all round, really.
Thanks Twinks, wherever you are.Better is good enough.0 -
