Removal of executor for wasting and mismanaging estate

Basic funerals are covered in the Funeral Directors' Code of Practice - you may like to check that they haven't charged you (your late father's estate) for anything over and above the following:
The Simple Funeral Service:
a) The funeral director’s services;
b attending to the necessary arrangements;
c) provision of the necessary staff;
d) provision of a simple coffin suitable for cremation or
burial;
e) transfer of the deceased from the place of death
during normal working hours (within ten running miles
allowed);
f) care of the deceased for up to fourteen days prior to
the funeral;
g) provision of a hearse direct to the nearest
crematorium or cemetery (within ten running miles);
h) if burial is specified (where this is available locally),
this may involve an additional charge;
i) This specification does not include the following
services:-
1) embalming;
2) viewing of the deceased;
3) provision of a limousine;
4) any fees or disbursements payable
on the clients behalf.
Unfortunately I found a funeral director was adding in some costs that are only appropriate when the deceased will be viewed, and we had already stated clearly that there would be no viewings
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

If you haven't been in contact with your father and haven't known where he lived would some of the calls, letters etc charged by the solicitor have been for trying to trace you?:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

It was the solicitor/executor who chose the funeral and I have no idea what it stands for, I do have a link to the funeral directors website but I'm not sure if I am allowed to post it on this forum.
I do remember that the solicitor told me on the phone that she chose " a basic funeral, to keep the costs down".
As for the floral tributes and the delivery of the ashes, those were additions made by myself.0 -
You say you went to your fathers funeral, were you not involved in the funeral arrangements at all then ?0

My father died on March 12th the solicitors didn't get in contact me until the 3rd of May. His body was in storage until the funeral that was on the 17th May. I did compose a eulogy and arranged flowers and transportation of his ashes back to Wales0
