How do I find land line number?

We want to get broadband and so we also need a line rental. There is a telephone socket in the wall and I think the previous tenants had talktalk internet which is what we are looking to get too. I'm sure we wouldn't need a new line installed but we don't know the phone number is there a way to find it out or can they do it without?

If the line is still active, you can either plug in a phone and call your mobile say. It might be ex-directory though so on the landline phone dial 17070 and it should read the number back to you.
  • What makes you think the previous tenants had talktalk internet ?

If you know they did then maybe call Talktalk and ask if they can find the info from the house number and postcode ?
