You can't. I was returning an order i'd made online.0 -
I would immediately cancel the card, call the police and ...
Or sit down and have a cup of tea. Today I had new tyres fitted, ATS complete it system was down, but I still had to pay. Left card details and will get receipt in post. Not everyone is a fraud, and it would be beyond the person to comptemplate doing so.
As a side note, the manager has no idea whether I had funds on the card at the time of the transaction, so the job was also done on trust.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

If your really worried about fraud, just keep an eye on your bank account just in case the retail assistant cloned your card and is now in the process of ordering a brand new telly.
You are more likely going to have your card details stolen when a website database gets hacked0 -
Or she needs basic customer service training, i don't expect to have to repeat myself several times just to be ignored.
Well she may do but if you want to be effective and get your point across................ but maybe you don't and just wish to have a bit of a whine.0 -
When returning an online order to a Arcadia store where it has been paid by paypal the staff have to accept your word on what card you have linked to your paypal as they have no way of checking , seems like the sales advisor did not know this and had to go ask a senior member of staff , bad pratice though to walk out of sight with a customers card though .0

sums it up pretty well - although the assistant still should have answered OP that's just downright rude to ignore someone when asked a question twice.0 -
It used to be fairly common for your card to be taken out of sight before the advent of chip and pin and the mobile card machines- think of all those times in restaurants that they used to take your card away to the machine and come back with the piece of paper to sign.
I wouldn't worry, but if you do just keep an eye on your bank account.0 -
They probably have the credit card machine in Monaco to avoid tax.0
