Just been to a local topshop to take an item back. The woman asked how i paid, i said by paypal but i had the card with me, she then asked for my card and wandered off out of sight for 5 minutes with it with no explanation!!!!!! I'm so shocked that they could be so lax with such sensitive information!

What did the assistant say when you asked her why she had done it?You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0

How are they being lax? Did they go up to each customer in store and give them a chance to write your number down. She probably had to go and find someone that could do a PayPal refund, its probably different to normal refunds they do.0

Because i have no idea what they might have done with my details, for all i know they could have copied my information. I didn't see where she had gone.0 -

Nothing, she looked at me blankly. I repeated my question and she still said nothing. I wouldn't be so angry about it if she'd explained what she was doing.0 -

Than you need to go to assertiveness training classes. After she ignored you twice you might have said something along the lines that you understood she could not answer your question so could she please go and get someone who could.0 -

Or she needs basic customer service training, i don't expect to have to repeat myself several times just to be ignored.0 -

Surely you have paid for something over the phone before? Then you hand over every piece of information that is on the card. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
