Hi,
No sure I think it would depend on the value versus time your friend spends listing things for you.
If its stuff like books that sell for a anything from £0.50 upwards, then if they are photographing it, writing about it, having the hassle of taking it to the post office etc then I would say ((only my opinion though!!!) that its fair.
BUT if its expensive stuff then you could be better off listing it yourself as 10% of 50 pence (5 pence)is not much for the time and effort of listing on Ebay but 10% of say £200 is £20 which I think is very high for commision for listing on Ebay.
Hope that helps in some way xxxGood Enough Club member number 220 -
Hi, it sounds OK to me. I have a similar arrangement with a friend but for 15%of the final amount after paying all fees/expenses.
Selling things on eBay can be very time consuming particularly it you are having to write detailed narratives that can't be cut and pasted from elsewhere. If each item is different then they all have to photographed and weighed and then postage prices checked. Also, you have to be available to answer questions regularly.
I am guessing that your friend will also use an established account which means than you may also benefit from their feedback rating (ie receive higher bids) - some people would be reluctant to buy from newbies.0 -
When I used to be an eBay trading assistant I usally asked for 10% of the item price + fees.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I've sold a phone for a friend who isn't E-bay savvy and not very confident about dealing with online money transactions - and I charged 10% of the final profit for my time. I took care of everything including posting it, packing it, noting down all the IMEI numbers, photographing it, listing it accurately and with tech details. Answering buyers questions etc - I think 10% is fair

If you can do it yourself its more fun, its also very easy to start. It seems scary but its not - if I can do it anyone can. If your friends a good friend they'll help you learn to do it for nowt.0

More than fair. He takes all the risks (bounced cheques or PayPal) - you get all the rewards. By comparison most eBay Trading Assistants charge 30% so you're getting a good deal considering all the work involved in listing and selling on eBay."Money is truthful. i sell stuff for my brother and get 20% as he doesn't have the time. (yet i'm the one with 3 children :j )
anyway, i think 10% is fine. But agree with other posters, its easy and fun to do yourself!:heart2::heartpuls:heart2: I WOULD NOT CHANGE MY AUTISTIC DAUGHTER FOR THE WORLD

10% is great , but i would recommend asking him to sit down with you and go through how it all works - that way you can start doin it yourself and building feedback - its more fun!0

Thanks for your feedback...ill stick with his 10% offer!!0

Did you refuse certain items if they weren't likely to go for much?0
