Dog keeps fouling on my front lawn

Sorry if wrong forum just can't find another suitable!

There's this little dog (I assume it's little by the size of the turd) that keeps fouling on my front lawn.

I've only got a little stretch of front lawn & this little dog keeps fouling on it. I have my suspicions but until I catch it happening in the act I'm powerless.

It's disgusting how owners don't keep an eye on pets to make sure this doesn't happen and if they're aware it happens it's even more disgusting that they don't attempt to clear it up.

Is there a safe powder or something I can put on my front lawn to deter it, I live in quite a respectable I don't expect this sort of thing to happen. Annoyed doesn't cut it

  • It may be a cat - they don't always dig a hole and bury it, I had one regularly fouling the lawn in my back garden and I thought it was some small god doing it until I actually saw the cat doing it.
Try putting 'Silent Roar' on the lawn :

Find out where the offending dog owner lives, get yourself and old palette knife and carefully apply the dog muck under their car door handle, so it cant be seen.
Might not fix the problem but will be satisfying.

It could also be a Fox or Hedgehog .....
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

No I thinks it's a dog due to the light shade of turd, cats turd tends to be a lot darker

That's the problem I have my suspicions but until I catch it in the act I can't do anything. I will have my day
  • Use a land mine

They were grey turds from the cat that was fouling my lawn.

Earlier this year I had similar issues. I have an open plan front to my 3 storey home. Being a floor up makes it difficult to see who's passing and I got sick to death of finding steaming piles at the end of my drive.

We installed CCTV as we'd had an issue with parts being stolen from OH's car (caught and prosecuted thanks to the CCTV evidence). Anyway, I woke up one morning to a fresh pile at the end of the drive and decided to review the footage...

I chose this shot so as not to identify the owner, I did get clear images of the owner in question. He probably assumed that as it was 9pm and dark he could get away with it.
About a week later I was driving down the street when I spotted him. I pulled over and asked him if he could possibly pick up his dogs dirt next time he did it on my drive. He was about to deny it when I informed him I had it all on CCTV and told him exactly the time of the incident. "I'll go and pick it up" he said.

Got home later that night and pile had gone. Reviewed the CCTV to see a sheepish looking old man picking up what his dog had left the week earlier.
    Never had a pile since
    :D
  • 1. Put a large sheet of netting over the area. You can buy it fairly cheaply in the garden centre. This might put the dog off walking on the area. Leave the netting there for long enoguh that the owner taes his mutt off somewhere else to take a dump.

    2. Or put a sign up saying "This grassed area is private land. Due to dog fouling and owners not removing it, please keep all dogs off this area. If that doens't stop it you can change the sign to something strong about CCTV and trespass. ;)

It might also be worth speaking with the local authority about it as they might be able to advise what you can do.
"So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:

You can just make out in that picture that there is a touring caravan on that side of the drive. I made use of its windows and in them are signs saying CCTV in Operation please pick up after your dog. They were there as that footage was taken, they were also there when the thieves came back for more bits off the car.

From experience then I've found that these people are so unbelievably stupid they either don't see the signs or don't bother actually looking to see if there are cameras there.

I (and others in the street) spent months haranguing our local council over the issues in this street and nothing happened. Finally after 2 years of complaining we all had letters from the 'environmental crime' department saying that patrols were being increased and spot fines would be handed out.

As far as I can see my cameras have solved the problem on and around my property, but the rest of the street is just as bad as ever.
