    There have been some good recommendations on here, which you say she's already discounted, that are far far better looking than a C3, considerably better to drive and most likely more reliable. On that basis I'd just leave her to it and let me make her own decision. Neither looks nor performance appear to matter, so it's just down to personal taste, which non of us can really advise on.

    most of these so called cool cars she is looking at are all left base and not the easiest or cheapest to fix
    if she thinks cool and expensive when broken down then let her get on with it
    you will have the last laugh because you have done extensive homework and will be purchasing next year when prices for these types of car are low because of the season
  • Mitsubishi FTO. Wife has one, has full NCD and pays about £300 a year to insure fully comp.

    Very cheap now and with the extra money you could get a spare tow truck for when it breaks. (Although I had might for 8 years and 80000 miles without issues. It only died when someone tail-ended it)
