Os daily 21 Sept 2012 This is the Daily thread for Friday 21 September 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,
Chilly here, off to work for me, finish a bit earlier today so not too bad.
Pasta for dinner, possibly carbonara with some garlic bread and salad.
Need to make my lunch up, and get dd to do hers, will swish and swipe the kitchen before I go.
Decided last night to order us a new duvet, ours is years old, and very thin, I also think its about 7tog, which is just not enough for winter, so will have a look tonight and order one.
Congrats to Monagran, what a lovely name.
Topsy how are things with you ?
Sistercas cant be long till your dd goes ? hope you are ok xx
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning RR and all who follow, chilly here this morning. Dog and kitten walked and fed so off to school in a while. DD did all the ironing yesterday and hoovered, she's a star. Hugs to all in need and special congratulations to monnagran and granny god, welcome to the world baby Mia and hope you and your Mum are doing well. Good luck to sistercas's DD, have a good time at Uni£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Hi all
Another c**p night for me:mad: Fell asleep at 8.30, woke at 10, and 1,30 got up had weetabix and tv. Went back to bed at 2.30, then it was 4 then 6:mad:
I don't know if it's the MS or the accident or a combination, but I am beginning to dread night time:o
Looks cold out there today.
Getting my hair done this morning, fracture clinic at 2 to get the staples taken out of my arm. I am healing really well. The eye gash is healed up, black eye is small now too. Not bad for two weeks.:T
OH will be over later. We are going out for a chinese tonight, and to talk about how we can move on from here. Hopefully it will work out. Neither of us wants to throw away eleven years, but we can't go on as we have been.:o
Anyway, you all have a great day!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning Redruby and all to follow
There appears to be 2 threads this morning, hopefully some one will merge them later.
Quite cold again this morning and no sunshine at the moment. Not that it really matters as just doing office work and housework - lots to do, must write a list
Will be something easy for dinner tonight - quite possible egg and chips. DD has no college but is at work tonight.
Got a clean bill of health from the dentist yesterday :j DS has got to have some fillings though
Am not looking forward to cleaning downstairs today, there is a ginourmous spider somewhere  OH has seen it but not been able to catch it - fingers crossed I don't come across it.
Best get going, have a great day all.x0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Cloudy and overcast and nippy here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was a made-up recipe, pasta in a creamy tomato sauce with smoked sausage, I had some cream left from making the topping for the trifle and didn't want to waste it, so made the sauce with passata and the cream, all went down well, also made baked mushrooms as a side dish each, they're really easy to make and are delicious. Dessert was a small portion of trifle each - managed to make it stretch. I have decided that each week on my days' off I will make something new/we haven't tried before for dinner, as we seem to have got into a food rut. I'm going to try to keep the cost down too, so should be interesting with the price food rises we're all experiencing at the moment. Not sure what we will be having tonight - I'll get us something from the SM this morning.
Was reasonably productive yesterday, managed to get going with the washing, drying and ironing, couldn't get anything dry outside so had to use TD and mine is only a small one, so still have several loads to do, and weather today not good enough to put out on the line either, so will do that when I get back from town and food shopping. Did manage to get the housework done though.
Mum and dad came over last night, after we'd had dinner and were all locked up for the night! They brought the nest of tables from my aunt's house that I had expressed an interest in, but they said they had already let them go - so think they may have gone to antiques place and bought them back for me, but we offered to pay but they wouldn't take any money. But I'm really chuffed as they're lovely.
My sister had her appointment with the heart specialist on Tuesday and is going in to have her op next Weds, it's a 5 hour procedure - don't envy her one bit - but it needs doing, but it doesn't always work first time, so fingers crossed!
Have a great Friday everyone x
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Mornin all,
Hope your all well,
Had a funny night as took strong pain killers as my tooth is so sore, really knocked me out and still feel a bit zonked, will be glad when the other appointments are done and it stops hurting.
Off walking this morning and then will pop into the charity shops. I must get some warmer clothes as nothing fits.
DH is definitely in the good books this week, he is so thoughtful sometimes, just reminded me how much I love him:)
Tea tonight is hm lasagne and salad. Need to just do an essentials shopping and really need to change our bed, will have to go in the dryer as very wet here.
Will catch up with Bletchley Circle tonight, and absolutely loved Downton, I am such a winter girl love cosy nights, lighting the fire, hearty food and great telly:T
Loving my kindle at the mo, don't know what I did without it, am planning to buy DS 2 one for his birthday in November.
Anyway best get my trainers on, have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all
I've been MIA for a while, but back with a thud .
Just gone back to work full time and the house needs a good bottoming, meals to plan and general declutter to tackle!
This week has been a long one, so looking forward to the weekend and I hope to join some of you on the flylady thread from next week, although I suspect Level 1 will be a struggle!!
Have a good day everyone and {hugs} to all.GC - March 2024 -0 -
Morning all, had a fabulous visit to my son's yesterday, got his garden done and am really pleased with how happy he is there. Staff team gelling well under excelent leadership, so it looks like all the stress and heartache were worth it. DS is learning to vacuum, wash up, wash clothes and (with a lot of supervision) cook a bit. There've been no major incidents since he moved in and those that there have been have been very short lived.
Today will be the usual mixture of errands and work. then this afternoon I am going to an auction viewing as I still need an armchair, the sofa is not quite big enough when I have people over.
All my sympathy to the injured and ill of you. From your postings it seems that you are so brave despite rotten things happening and pain a pretty constant companion. I admire your fortitude and hope you get better or at least improve really quickly.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
