I'd also be tempted to contact Kantar and let them know that their representatives are trying to gain access to homes with lone females in - this isn't encouraged in most situations for risk of accusations as well!
The chap might be reminded of his limitations by the company, and stop pressurising people. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Its usual for home surveys to make an app with someone when its a long survey like that one.. not just turn up out of the blue, he may of been bogus I would definately alert Kantar just in case he isn't genuine..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I am more than happy to take time to do surveys and would have picked a time, perhaps where I could have sat out in the garden with the rep and done his survey. I think I need to get a cold caller sign for my door.0 -
I don't think this is objectionable from a safety point of view - I hope I'm not paranoid enough to suspect every random man at my door of wanting to attack me.
But it is objectionable from an imposition point of view. I get annoyed if people knock my door doing a survey/collecting for charity/trying to sell something/banging on about religion etc. regardless of whether they want to come in or not. In fact, I rarely answer the door straight away. I look out of the window to see who it is. If it's the postie or meter man I chase after them

Funnily enough, I have just completed a home survey which involved keeping a food diary for 4 days and got £30 for my trouble. And they're coming back to do part 2 in a couple of months which, potentially, will net me another £30. That was all pre-arranged with a letter being sent in the first instance giving me opportunity to refuse.
As others have said, no I would refuse entry to anyone who thinks they can just waltz in and make themselves at home while you're busy. Besides, how can your answers be considered and accurate if you're not concentrating on the survey."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
Regardless of what I was doing (even if I was just catching up on some TV with my feet up and a cup of coffee), I wouldn't invite any cold-caller into my house no matter which company they (said they) were from, even if I'd heard of the company.0
