I have had a parcel delivered on the correct day to the correct address by ...........YODEL!!!!!!

I'm on a personal boycott of any company that uses them for this reason.

CK needs to start a rival for them ;)

If I did I would have been sacked by now for my other posts about how crap they are. I was being ironic.

Anyway, my car is not tatty enough to work for Yodel!

Pc world and Virgin have both said recently that they are terminating contracts with them. Don't know if they were just saying that but it would serve Yodell right if they did.

I always ask now which courier a company uses and try to avoid those using Yodel.

I've never had any problems with any Yodel delivered items. They do seem to work later than other couriers as I've had a parcel delivered at 7.30pm

Yeah i had a late delivery from Yodel once (around 8pm). They seem ok to be honest. I think people just like to jump on the bandwagon and make quick and easy digs at random companies to make themselves feel better.

oddly enough today I just received a parcel from yodel and it was time sensitive as frozen food and it came as planned.
delivery fella was really nice and said 'boy I am glad your in'
which knowing it was supposed to turn up today was a sure thing:)

Must be something in the water. I had something arrive today, dispatched yesterday and due for delivery not until Monday!

Yodel - why do you scare us so?

I know! Maybe they're bucking their ideas up. I too have just had a Yodel delivery - estimate 24th and it arrives today. True it was just dumped on the doorstep without the bell being rung, even though I saw the driver pull up from my desk by the window, my car is in the drive and the window is open with music fairly loudly playing so I'm obviously in.
Could be worse, could have been thrown over the back gate!

You saw the driver pull up and yet you didn't go to your door? Perhaps the driver saw you looking and thought they know I'm here delivering an expected parcel and will get to the door ASAP? If I spot a delivery van outside my gaff I'm at the door before they are every time.

Alas 'tis a rather more complex tale; my previous post was the vastly abridged version. At the risk of boring people here with the minuatae of my thrilling daily life. But if it amuses you (and I apologise to everyone else who really couldn't give a flying fig :p )...
Whilst scanning photos on my printer nearish to the window something caught my eye. I looked out the window to see a plain white van pull up outside my next door neighbour. Driver gets out and opens the back. I've gone back to my pictures by this point so only half registering. One of my neighbour's is having building work done so certainly not unusual of late and I didn't automatically go "oh that's my parcel." Bear in mind I wasn't expecting it until the 24th September anyway. Next time my gaze alighted on the view from my window, the van was gone. About ten minutes later, the recycling van came round to ferry all my unwanted packaging away to be reused. Feeling somewhat pleased at doing my bit for the environment, I exited my front door to retrieve the green box. Imagine my surprise as seeing a mahoosive great big cardboard box sat on my step! :) yes, indeed it seems my parcel was delivered and early at that. very pleased I was too. I could do some detailed analysis if you like but I think I can say with a reasonable amount of certainty that there's very little chance the driver would have actually been able to see me inside the house from the angle he walked from and the associated obstacles in the way, so could not reasonably have assumed I was waiting behind the door to pounce pick up (which, of course, I wasn't because I'd wandered off to make a nice hot cup of tea at that point). Truthfully it's conjecture on my part that the white van was the one who delivered my parcel, but I had a visitor this morning who only left half an hour before and no mahoosive great big box was sitting there then.

All of which is rather moot really because since when does someone clearly being home mean "oh, its ok, I'll just leave it, not knock or ring or anything because it looks like they're probably going to open the door in a minute anyway so that's ok."

And there ends my tale. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased to have my stuff and don't really care that it was left like that as it's not expensive (in this case). Just wondering why, when he's gone to the trouble of dropping it at the doorstep, not just ring the bell and dot the i's/cross the t's on the delivery. Good job it wasn't a laptop eh!

Dammit, it wasn't a laptop. Could have had that one. Bah! :rotfl:
