Need to install bluetooth on pc to download phone photos. How?

Hi there

I have a bluetooth enabled phone and want to download some photos from it onto my desktop pc. At present there is no bluetooth on my pc. How do I download and install the relevant Bluetooth driver/software? (There was no CD with my phone btw or if there was I have lost it.)

I have a Dell Vostro desktop pc running Windows 7 professional.

you need a usb bluetooth dongle like

I did actually just find a Bluetooth 2.0 EDR USB adaptor in the cupboard but when I installed it, nothing happened, my pc did not see it. Is this too old to be compatible with Win 7 Professional?

OK made some progress, Bluetooth device now visible on desktop. Found photo on phone, selected Bluetooth option, pointed phone at desktop. Message appeared on phone with heading, Paired Devices and underneath it listed my OH's laptop, so must have used it to download there a while back. He is at work, so cannot do that today. Any idea how to add my dt pc as second paired device on phone ? Is that possible or can phone only be paired to one other BT device at any one time. It is an LG phone.

BTW Don't have email enabled on my phone. Prefer to keep it on my desktop.

an easier way is to install dropbox on both phone and pc. you can then sync. photos to both

have you got the correct drivers installed on the pc for the bt dongle? go to it in device manager and try updating the driver, then you should be able to pair the phone to the pc.

Meanwhile, back at the coal face, my mobile phone bluetooth is paired at present with OH's laptop. Cannot find option on it to pair with a second pc (my desktop) as well (an either/or scenario).

Is this a general bluetooth restriction or a specific phone restriction?

No, I have my phone paired to 6 devices.

PC, Cars handsfree. Daughters and wifes phones and a laptop and also
a tablet PC.

Mines an older dongle and doesnt work on WIN 7, XP only.

Bit fussy on the software the best option for me was software called bluesoliel? Or something like that.

Rarely use it now, Phone has WIFI.

the list of devices you have previously paired with remain in the phone's list, it doesn't mean it's actively paired with any of them now
