    1998 Citroen Xantia 196,000
    1991 Merc 300TD 369,000

The 2nd still feels as solid as the day it left the factory. The 1st is a bit 'loose'

But they both keep on going..

    Hey all,

Just curious to see what other MSEr's do mileage wise, so I'll start this one :D
    '12' Jag XJ Portfolio Saloon 3.0d, 39,416mi (March 2012)
    '62' Jag XF Portfolio S Sportbrake 3.0d, 8,656mi (September 2012)
Ours are both company cars
    CK

October 2004 Honda Civic Diesel - 137k miles, bought with 90k miles 2 years ago

If I had a car as comfy as a brand new Jag I would do far more miles, I would drive my wife to work and pick her up, drive to my friends around the corner, I'd even drive to take the bins to the end of the drive...

1988 2cv. Bought with 45k on the clock in 1998. Now reading 44k!
I used to clock up 600-800 miles a week in her for work. Now I'm office-based it's 120 miles a week.
  • Ford Mondeo 2.0TDCi LX estate - 2006 reg - 112k miles averages 52mpg
    Ford CMAX 2.0TDCi Powershift - 2008 reg - 38k miles averages 43 mpg

Would almost certainly have another Mondeo, been very impressed with it

Our mileages have reduced this last 12 months. A relative of mine had a Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6D that did 280,000 miles in just over 4 years (1985 - 1989) with no major problems, not sure how many modern diesels could do that now with only routine servicing & parts...

    I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

If only they hadn't gone over to DMF's in most diesels then the bills would be lower, and other things like DPF's don't help with bills. My Skoda is running on a single flywheel conversion, and is still as economic and smooth.
Routine maintenance nowadays should be just brake parts, tyres and suspension parts (due to the state of our roads).
