This half whit was caught doing 93 - 103 MPH whilst pulling a wheelie.....beggars belief of the stupidity of some bikers - yes there are some good decent bikers, unfortunately they to get tarred with the same brush because of f***ing idiots like this.

biker goes fast, drops a wheelie, doesn't fall off or hurt anyone
Not much of a story really and similar happens most weekends on the A24/Rikers/Box hill in Sussex0 -
What an idiot.
If he'd angled his numberplate inwards rather than outwards, which is perfectly legal, and then done that wheelie the plate would have been unreadable on the talivan footage.
Seriously though. That's a rear-facing shot from a talivan which means he would have first had to overtake the big white Transit van emblazoned with the Suffolk Safety Cameras logo, so if he didn't see that he probably shouldn't be on the road.
That speed and manoeuvre may well be safe in the hands of a competent, observant biker, but this guy is apparently none of those things (he's not even a biker now)

, and it doesn't exactly stand out depending on where it's parked.

I've passed it once that I know of & didn't see it till the last minute, it's supposed to be at the end of my street this week, but so far no sign.0 -
Got the story mixed up with Vaio's post, but my point remains the same.
Got a picture of the van so we can see how well camouflaged it is?0 -
Although when you're approaching it at 60 when it's parked in a lay-by, like this one (where it was when I passed it) - http://goo.gl/maps/Z1Sks the majority of it was covered by the vegetation & trees around it, which made only the right hand side visible from my direction.0 -
Ok that is more subtle than most, but he would still have passed the side of the van that is on the left in that shot.
There is clearly something amiss as soon as you see that big blacked out caravan window bolted to the side, as well as a police logo and a big bold camera logo.
You'd think would have at least tried to slow down and drop below the 96 mph prosecution threshold (assuming a 70 limit here) and not just carried on popping a wheelie for the camera!
I know that doing a wheelie is pretty normal when some bikes accelerate, and that as soon as you lift off the throttle they will come down and be in full control again; but I also know that non-bike coppers automatically assume it's baby&kitten murdering time as soon as that front wheel leaves the tarmac; so if you're going to do it you need to be aware of your surroundings and ideally of where the cameras hang out.0 -

Well, in my 33 years of bike riding on many different machines from a 50cc "fizzy" to a CB1100R (and various others in between), I've never ridden a single one that can't be ridden without the front wheel lifting when accelerating if that is what an experienced rider wants.
It's only normal if the rider wants it to be normal or if they are racing or trying to impress, and there is no reason why when riding a motorcycle on the road in the UK that the front wheel should ever lift.
If any bike owner thinks that doing a wheelie is "normal", then maybe they should consider a different mode of transport.
Any high power supercar can perform doughnuts or burn out the tyres when accelerating, but that doesn't mean that they must do this when being used on the roads.0
