Could someone please check my Hijack This log?

I'm wondering if someone could help me please.

I'm having a few problems at the moment with my computer.

1. Everytime I log off or restart or do a "disc clean up" I lose, VLC player, Veetle, avc converter and a couple of others, which means I have to go through the whole rigmarole of uninstalling and then installing again.

2. I was just watching Veetle and wanted to change to a different channel and now I just have a blank screen. I tried several other channels on there, but it's just blank now (and I didn't even log off or do a disc clean). This happens when I try to access Veetle in Firefox. At the moment it works fine in IE9.

3. I thought I would do a Combofix for you guys to look at, but it stopped just before it was going to print the log. It just said "Combofix has stopped working" with the little box.

4. It also comes up in the Start menu "some programs can not be viewed".

I'm just wondering if anything shows in my Hijack This log.

Hoping you can help me.

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by lose, the icon, the whole program directory?

    disc cleanup with what?

Which model of machine is it, do you have windows discs or factory restore partition?

Thank you for replying to my request. :)

    Sorry, I'm not that technical.

I lose the program - VLC won't play, so I have to uninstall and reinstall it and the same with Veetle - just comes up with a blank screen, so I have to do the same as I do with VLC. They run, but if I close down the computer or restart it for some reason, VLC and Veetle won't work again, so I have to uninstall and reinstall.

I do the disc cleanup that comes with Windows and I do the Glary Utilities one.

I have an HP Pavilion DV2700.

I don't think I have either of what you asked. What are they?

Is there something wrong from my log?

Obvious first suggestion is to stop running cleanup utilities and see if it continues.

What are you playing in vlc?

Veetle website doesn't work at all for me, and appears to have odd bits of Russian floating about

OK - thanks, I won't clean up for a while and see what happens.

I play tennis matches that I've downloaded from reputable sites and dvd's that I've bought.

I've never had that problem with Veetle before. Used to work fine. :(

    Does the log look OK?

Still not clear what you mean by lose.

Is the vlc icon still there, and does a program start when you click it. Same with avc? A reboot shouldn't change anything, a cleanup utility could do many things, good and bad

There's some bloat in the log, it's unlikely a hijackthis log would help with your issue, it's just an overview of what is running or set to run at startup

    Can't see a virus scanner, here's one

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/

Personally I'd dispense of spybot and SAS.

When I say lose, I mean, I can't use it because it doesn't work anymore. Everything is there, icon, etc, but it just won't work.

When I reboot and I go to use VLC (if needed), I notice that it doesn't work (as previously posted). I then uninstall and reinstall and it's OK, until I reboot  then it doesn't work again.

Actually, come to think of it, Spybot and SAS affect it also, it doesn't work after I've used those cleaners.

I use MSE for my anti-virus.

I really appreciate you helping me on this. I'm just stumped to tell you the truth.

Stop cleaning, and scanning, it's pointless, especially if it may be causing problems.

The more scanners you have, the slower things are.

so you do, thought I saw it earlier.

It doesn't work, doesnt really give me a clue what you are seeing/doing

Sorry, what doesn't work? Do you mean MSE?

Should I uninstall MSE and change to Avast ?

When I say it doesn't work, what I mean is.... "I can't use it because it won't allow me to". I'm sorry, I'm not that good at explaining, cuz I'm not that technical...... sorry :o

my preference is for avast of mse, but it's not overly important, especially relating to your problem.

It doesn't work doesn't mean anything, apart from your expect it to do X, and it doesn't meet your expectation, for someone to help, you have to say what you are doing, what file or media you are trying to play, what you click on to play it, what happens on screen etc. Using the word lose makes it even more confusing.

You click on vlc, a vlc screen should come up, does it? If so, then what happens, what exactly do you click on, and what happens on screen at each stage.
