Thinking of buying a Smart Car - any opinions?

I only have £3000 to spend and the IQ/ Aygo/ Sparks all seem to be more than my budget.

I have another bigger car as well for the family and was looking for a little one as my job entails alot of community work so thought a Smart would be more zippy, economical, easier to park etc.

We have an 04 smart fortwo, passion, used to tow behind our motorhome. It has been the most troublesome car to own as always something wrong - and it usually needs a main dealer as a lot of normal garages will not work on them. It is very cute, nice to nip out locally in town, parking is fantastic, but its quite a hard ride, very bumpy as its such a short wheel base. Parts are silly prices from main dealers.

Opinion 5 years on from buying it, its overpriced for what it is, funky and cute, great in towns / congested traffic areas. Nice to have such low raod tax though, and very low insurance.
