But why would someone want to do a certification on a Holiday ? Though I understand that there is a huge price difference but why
to spoil you vacation ?0 -
Hi Sam,
Take a look at Maven Training website for their free breifings... might be helpful. There are a number of free briefings (in London and Birmingham) that would be interesting to anyone concerned with how project management, and its interaction with programme and changemanagement, is actioned.0 -
Dirk Gently,
I dont think we can generalize all the PRINCE2 practitioners out there based on the few you've come across. At the end of the day, its just a 5 day course, and from thereon it depends on the individual to actually put into consistent practice whatever he's learnt in the classroom.
Credible sources for pass rates please? anybody? i really need to know for my wife to take up the course asap0 -
I am a recent graduate in construction management.Could any one suggest the benefit of doing PRINCE2, to get a Job in the current Employment Situation?0

Before getting into providers and stuff, I would suggest you try a simulation test for the foundation exam...i searched for it and found projstudy offering it....it was actually quite close to the actual foundation...u can get it in the free resources section in prince20 -

No arguments with that - the gripe is really with employers who insist on P2 as a minimum, without understanding that all it proves is that you can pass an exam on the method, not whether you have the skills to be an effective PM or not.
BTW, I have come across an awful lot of P2 Practitioners in my 12+ years as one.0 -
As you are aware that the current employment situation is not that rosy. A PRINCE2 certificate might not guarantee you a job and you will obviously not get a job straight as a Project Manager. But the certification will help you get an entry in the field, most probably in the support roles. Where you go from there is completely up to you. Hope that helps.
If you are a project manager already, you do not need a certification but if you want to enter the field you have to have a certification.0 -
I have been working as a project manager for the past 10 years and I think a PRINCE2 Certification will immensely help you in your career growth. It gives you an edge during your appraisals. There are many training providers out there, so you need to do some research before you go for one. I personally felt that PROJstudy courses were good and provided value for money. They have a good teaching methodology and make best use of the 5 days. All said and done, I must say that PRINCE2 practitioner is not a easy exam, and self study and preparation is a must to crack it.0

i have just completed a p2 course and passed foundation and practitioner exams quite well. my training was done through quanta training in worcester and they were excellent. Customer service was excellent and the course was delivered superbly by tim finch, he is one of the best teachers i have ever had. the guy had so much enthusiasm for such a dry subject and the info sank in really well. You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0

I am a prince2 trainer with projstudy and I have been guiding people to pass the Prince2 practitioner exam for some time now. To be able to clear the exam, you must have a good understanding of the fundamentals of prince2, the various exceptions and be able to relate to real time scenarios. I would advise to go through the case studies many times and check your speed so that you can manage your time properly. Also you should be able to check the relevant sections of the manual like the appendix A and C during the exam for ready reference. All the best guys!!0
