Does anyone know if any phones come with Android Jelly Bean (4.1) yet?

It's contract upgrade day soon and I don't want to get lumbered with another phone that's not going to be upgraded (I'm looking at you HTC)

Only a few, the new Galaxy Note 2 will ship with Jelly Bean, and the S3 and most other top of the line phones will be updated to it eventually.

The best phone if you want to be fully up-to-date with Android updates is the Galaxy Nexus, this is updated directly by Google and was updated a week or 2 after Jelly Bean was announced some months ago.

Another way to ensure you get updates quicker is to buy sim free, these handsets are unbranded so the networks don't have to review and add bloatware before you get it.

The final way is to flash your own firmware the Android community usually because they want more freedom release their own firmwares for devices months before the manufacturer releases an update, it's risky though you void your warranty and there is usually something that doesn't always work, but most for the most part work aOK.

Yep, I had a sim free HTC Desire HD and I did get updates a bit quicker than if I had a locked one. Feeling a bit naffed off they never upgraded it beyond Gingerbread; even though it's got the juice to run better versions. I guess HTC had enough work to do on newer models.

Galaxy Nexus is the only phone that officially comes with Jelly Bean at the moment.
