I wonder how long the 2.8% rate is going to last. I've notice Easy Access rates are falling at the moment with 2.9 being the best. With this account being around now for about a year now, do you guys think they'll pull this account or drop the rate for new accounts any time soon?0

So don't rule it out.
The AA is still offering 2.80%.

For this reason to be on the safe side Ive just opened an Online Saver account with Halifax (took 2 mins to do being an existing customer).
I have already got a Halifax Online Saver but that is over half way through the 12 month bonus term so thought I open another one just in case they do reduce the rate.
Very easy to open the Halifax Online Saver (2 mins to do as existing customer), now if it was only as easy to close Halifax online accounts online (not having to write in or visit a branch) as it is to open them then that would be superb!
Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
I've done the same. It's been around since early Sept 2011 with that original year bonus so you never know if and when they'll pull it./0

I have just tried to open this online and keep being told there is a technical problem - think they may be pulling it.!0

I managed to open one of these earlier this afternoon.0

Did you do it online or in the branch - I have just tried again online but it keeps saying there is a technical problem. I can see my other accounts.0 -

Don't know. I have just spent 28 minutes on the phone to them and they confirmed that there was a technical problem and have opened it online.0
