  • Ive had my bouquet done by astonishing surroundings in shrewsburt. Its cost £80 and has roses gerberas lavender n freesias. I saw it put together before they tied it in case i wanted to change anything. Ive bought identical loose flowers too fRom them t make mymum n mil a silk arrangement as a thank you gift. I collected my bouquet 12 weeks before my wedding i am now not stressing about it being right on the day. My centrepieves are going to be glass jugs filled with daffodils that im growing or will buy stacks of from supermarket
  • Hi i got some from hobby craft, some from ebay and some from countrybaskets.co.uk. I made the bouquets myself and being foam i could take them apart and redo if i wasn't happy i just put elastic bands around them to keep them together and wrapped with a ribbon. I also made center pieces using 4 flowers which covered the table number base.

Wow. You're obviously very talented. You've inspired me to give it a go. Thanks for the information
  • Has anyone tried a paper flower bouquet? I'm making paper flowers for the table decoration (we're having a 'book' theme so I'm using the pages of an old novel), I'm not sure how they'd look as a bunch though.

I'm having fake flowers, mainly because I didn't like the idea of all that money spent on cutting flowers that will just die shortly after. My best friend was quite shocked when I told her! But when I explained that it's cheaper, they won't die, and I get to keep them after, she came onside. :) I saw some foam ones at a wedding fair recently and they were beautiful, I had to touch them to make sure they weren't real.
The biggest bonus I think is that there's no worry of them wilting. Like you say, less stress is best!
Most of our buttonholes are the fake roses from the British Heart Foundation, it's nice that some of the money is going to charity, and it was inspired by an MSEer!

I got mine from this website - https://www.weddingbellflower.co.uk
Sunflower bouquet - I was worried as flowers aren't in season the month of my wedding. They look lovely, and saves a lot of stress and effort nearer the time. And cheap!

We got married in Florida (Harry P. Leu Gardens) in 2011, so taking artificial flowers with me just meant there was one less thing to stress about when we were there - I made them myself, just got a couple of different bunches that I liked, one of peonies and one of roses, and mixed them with some ranunculus that I've has in the house for years! Used what was left to make a small posy for the top of the cake - which was from M&S and taken out in my suitcase

  • I got married in Barbados and took my silk flowers with me. as the above poster said, one less thing to worry about and they were beautiful. I didn't do them myself as I met a florist that specialised in them and what she created was much better than I could ever have created. They looked amazing and everyone that has ever seen the pictures agrees. I got them from https://www.bloomsbudsandbows.com
