This is the Daily Wednesday 19th September 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Fish fed, DW is on, packup's ready, hubby has a cuppa in bed, I've eaten breakfast & I'm about ready to go to work.
It was hard work yesterday, it was blustery & for some reason the wind affects the children & they were going totally loopy.
I have a lumpy knuckle, I think it's the beginnings of arthritis as it isn't actually swollen, it's just gradually changing shape & size.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone
Jackie - take it steady!
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Beautiful blue sky, sun is shining but a bit nippy here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early. Washing out on the line.
Dinner last night was the gammon, egg, onion sauce, mash, peas and HG green beans. I managed to get the trifle, jelly and custard layers made but it hadn't cooled or set enough to put the cream on - so dessert is organised for tonight - main meal tonight will be roast chicken, mash, veg and gravy. Last night when I got home from work I did manage to get a few jobs done, made a loaf of bread, made pack-ups, I managed to make 1 of the phone calls on my list, so that's sorted, will do the other couple of jobs on the pc either this afternoon when I get in from work or later tonight.
Work yesterday was relatively quiet so was able to catch up on all the emails and jobs that I needed to get done.
Only have to work until lunchtime then on days off, have lots of jobs to do at home, so will get stuck into those - we're not away this weekend but have some jobs to do and DH is not working so things don't tend to get done! We are away the following weekend and then have several weekends where we are busy either away or have other plans.
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Morning :hello:
Bitsy good luck for H
I'll have to read back, I don't know what's going on with you Jackie but do as you're told and look after yourself
I had a day off yesterday (well a day off OS, I don't actually have a job, lol). I went out for pizza with my mum. I was good though, only a bit of pizza and lots of salad, and a diet coke instead of a latteHad a few jobs planned for when I got back but ended up 'fixing' mum's laptop instead. It wouldn't connect to the internet so I bought it back it back to my house to fiddle with. Plugged it in, turned it on, examined all the little buttons and sockets while I was waiting for it to boot up and found a switch that my laptop doesn't have. You can switch the wi-fi on and off with it - she'd turned it off and didn't realise :rotfl: She'd spent ages on the phone to a techie person too :rotfl: I ran scans, deleted things she'd more than doubled-up on (she had things like 6 shortcuts to the same program) and it's now virus free and speedy.
Just been down to the chicken shed, I was glad to come back in, it's freezing out there. The sun is shining though, so I'll do some more tidying in the garden. I have to bag up some sand too, I keep putting it offBulletproof0 -
Morning all, hectic day yesterday as house was a mess and has disability social worker round!!! Cue massive tidy up. Today I MUST find some bits that I have sold on eBay and need to deliver, and have managed to pick up a freezer for £50 locally,so will pick that up. Dinner willbe something from the freezer and we will see what delicacies I find. OH is chipping off the kitchen floor tiles ready for the men to come tomorrow and lay them. Expecting a phone call, and tomorrow am taking eldest child to see Joseph and the dreamcoat locally. Not sure what he will make of it......
Hugs to all xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning everyone,
Hugs to JackieO, Hilstep and Topsy.
Really chilly here this morning.
DD1s german visitor arrived yesterday and they have all gone off to Oxford for the day. It is organised through school and she came here last year as well. DD1 will go back there in March.
Have a lovley day everyone.:)0 -
Morning friends,
Bitsy fingers crossed for your dh second interview
Topsy big hugs
JackieO take it easy today, have a rest
Not much happening chez Julie today. Off for a walk with my friend this morning, and a catch up.
Later going to go out with dh on a couple of jobs
No idea what's for tea, whatever I can find.
Lost of skyping with my middle DS at the moment. He comes home in January after the my eldest DS wedding, much to his and his gf relief, he can't wait. It will be lovely to have him back. Can't wait for us all to be together at Christmas.
Need to check Facebook as I haven't been on for ages. I don't know how people manage to post several times a day, I just don't have chance.
Managed to get a 50% code off for sky yesterday on the grabbing board and with the m&s vouchers am going to swap over from virgin. I cannot get to the bottom of how much we pay despite several confusing phone calls and we have a very basic package so I am voting with my feet.
Anyway better get my trainers on, have a good day all x
Meant to say grab it board !Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
