Currently trying out Android Sat Nav and in some respects its better than my proper sat nav

1/ I can just tell it where i want to go instead of typing it
2/ I like the picture that pops up at the destination
3/ I prefer the landscape/longer view

but before i sell my proper sat nav

stock sat nav thats on it doesn't have a great voice and i cant see anywhere to save favourites/history

Anyone using a sat nav app and any recommendations?

I dont mind paying but i would prefer to try before i buy
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

I've heard of some apps that can change the voice (and offer various voices to chose from), e.g. Ivona.
Don't take my word for this.

The history is available in Menu >> Recent destinations.
I don't know what you mean by 'Favourites', but you have 'Starred places' in your google account and they are available via Menu in the Google Navigation. And what's wrong with just using 'Contacts' - unless the 'Favourite' is in the middle of nowhere?

For me, the most important feature is the ongoing recording of the track that is stored. (time, Date, Speed, snail-trail) that I can use when required to prove where I was and when should I require a 'witness' for any reason. This is standard on a SatNav, but less so on a phone - especially as it doesn't multi-task all these features, and I've not found one better than my trusty Garmin Nuvi.

I find it too complex when driving to deal with calls via Bluetooth AND navigate at the same time, as I've too much to look out for. The dedicated SatNav saves me from this.
