We want to sort out a fair solution, and don't want to leave the dealer out of pocket more than necessary, but also feel a bit like the suggestions so far are a little unfair.oh wait, you want to sue them don't you? If you go for emotional trauma...

have you seen this crashed car;)0

youve waited this long for a car now it is essential you have one now because you cant do without?
you have options on your plate, if you cant deal with being wihtout a car then your option is limited to you deposit back and cancellation of the finance or what ever you set up.
what is the cost of the upgrade and does it fall inline with the 1000 extra? compared to your classic option with other dealers?0 -

Ring Hyundai UK h/q, explain the situation, nicely complain and then ask them to check the availability nationwide and their delivery pipeline - quite often manufacturers keep a handful of cars in the pipeline invisible to dealers, there could be a matching car available soon.
They can also change vehicle spec for cars around 4-5 weeks prior to expected build date (and transit from Turkey shouldn't take too long) - maybe they can build a replacement car for you asap."Retail is for suckers"

Thank you all for your comments. I had to say I had no idea to expect quite so many replies so quickly. I still don't quite know what we will do, however, I appreciate people taking the time to post.
Thank you.0 -
Can you negotiate with the dealer for rental of another car (even if it's just a small runaround) until the model you want is back in stock? If that would solve the temporary problem of needing a car anyway? It would then give you time to wait for the stock to come in so you can have the car you wanted.
They must get some trade in cars in all the time so perhaps they can provide one of those as it would not cost them much to do so? Sorry i don't know how feasible that is but it might be worth asking them, especially if they think they will lose the sale altogether if they can't keep you on the books."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0
