What to do with old wheels.
Options
I'm clearing out the shed. I have some wheel i took off my car when I replace them with alloys. The tyres have had it - still legal but not long left. Anything money saving I could do with them? Could I get anything for 5 steel rims with rubbish tyres on them?

Well, if you try to sell them just as 'wheels' probably not... but if you can bring yourself to add some useful information size/make/model/age etc, you might find they are just what someone on the bay is looking for.0

I didn't think there would be any one on ebay looking for them tbh.
Can buy the same size wheel with a good tyre quiet cheap and i have 5 to get rid of0 -
Stick them on eBay next month and advertise them as perfect for running winter tyres.
Make sure to fill in the number of studs, PCD, offset, width and diameter in the fields that eBay provide, rather than just stating that they're for a Honda Civic or whatever they came off. Many cars use the same fittings.
Hell if they're 16" 4x114.3 with an offset of around 35 and a width of around 7", I'll give you 20 quid for them.0 -
It's nearly winter tyre time. Someone will possibly be looking for a set of steel wheels to save their alloys.
Or what Lum said.0 -
I had some pretty ropey small aluminium wheels that'd only fit on one car... with old/flat tyres. They'd been in my garage for about 5years, I listed them on ebay "to collect" and two fellas were more than happy to part with over £50 for them.0

Fit winter tyres to them and put them on around mid to end of October and remove them around end February.
That way you'll have better grip for driving in winter and the alloys won't get wrecked by road salt and sliding into kerbs.0
